The group voted to read the Science & Technology nominee, Cannibalism: A Perfectly Natural History, in May. The winner for this genre was Astrophysics for People in a Hurry. Have you read any of the other nominees for this award? Which have you read and what did you think? Which was your favorite?

Do you plan to read any of them in the future? How about setting up a buddy read of one that you are interested in this month? Use this thread to discuss and find a buddy!

Schedule buddy reads here, then set up a separate thread to discuss.

Siddharth Venkatesan | 1 comments Other Minds: The Octopus, the Sea, and the Deep Origins of Consciousness by Peter Smith is one of the best books I've read this year. Give it a try if you are into science books.

Reija | 101 comments Good to hear, I have Other minds waiting, as well as Caesar's last breath. I have read our group reads, they are fine and Soonish, which I listened, it would have been better in other format, I think, it has some humour or comics which didn't really translate audio format. I would like to read The Nature Fix and maybe We have no idea and Pandora's lab. The Greatest story ever told was not my taste.

I kind of want to read Inferior: How Science Got Women Wrong, but my library doesn't have a copy, so I'd have to buy it and it's still a bit pricey. The paperback only costs slightly less than the $15.99 Kindle, so I'd probably go with the Audible, but I'm not sure I want to read it enough to do that yet.

I'm also interested in The Nature Fix. I may get around to that one some day when I'm in the right mood.
