Along Came a Spider question

Hi all -

I’m brand new to this site so be gentle 😉

I had to use the above book title as for some reason it couldn’t be left blank!

So... I’m trying to recall a book which my now deceased sister used to love but for some reason, I can’t think what it was called. I’ve searched the internet but to no avail.

It’s a kids book about a black spider - pretty sure it was Jamaican (could be completely wrong) who liked to eat rice and peas from a cauldron. I’m pretty sure the cauldron refilled itself each day. If I remember correctly, although it was a kids book, there was some dark moments in it. Does it ring any bells among any of you?
