I've just finished The Girl In The Tower by Katherine Arden and oh my gosh it was wonderful. I can't rave about it enough.

It's like a modern day fairy tale, and the writing is really gorgeous. At some points I almost felt like I was in Medieval Russia. I strongly recommend it.

I loved The Bear and the Nightingale - have you read it? I love magical realism.
