- What is a digital book club, anyway?
A digital book club is a book club that meets online to discuss books that they have read. Digital book clubs can be executed in many different ways through many different online platforms. The digital book club for Flower Mound Public Library is hosted on the Library's Goodreads page. Here, you will find discussion boards for a variety of topics, information about books and the Library, member polls, and much more!

- Does this book club meet in person?
This book club is completely digital at this time.

-How do I join? Do I need a library card to become a member?
Anyone with a Goodreads account is welcome to join our book club! You do not have to be a member of the Flower Mound Public Library to join. To join the book club, simply click "Join Group" on the left hand side of the group home page.

- I've never heard of a theme-based book club before. What the heck is it?
A theme-based book club is a book club that focuses on set themes. This means that members get to pick which books they read. The only requirement for book selection is that the book fits into the common theme(s).

- What are the themes for this book club?
The current month's theme will be announced on the Goodreads group home page.

-Is there a list of books that can help me choose what to read?
Each month, we will post a list of suggested books that are related to the current theme on the group home page under the Announcements section.

-How do I comment on a discussion topic?
If the discussion thread shows up under the home page discussion feed, you can click on the topic title to take you right to the discussion. If the topic doesn't show up on the recent feed, you can click on the discussion board section heading from the homepage and click on the name of the discussion thread that you would like to comment on. Scroll to the bottom of the discussion page, where you can type your questions or comments into the "comment" text box. Once you are finished, click "post". You can also reply directly to another member's comment by scrolling to their comment and clicking "reply" on the lower right hand side of their comment.

-How do I post a new discussion topic?
From the book club home page, click on the board you would like to post on, then click on "new topic" on the far right. Type the name of the discussion thread in the "topic" field and post your question or comment in the "comment" section. If the post is about a specific book or author, you can type the book title or author name in the "This topic is about" search box and it will suggest titles/authors that you may select. Once you are ready to post, click "post".

-My question wasn't addressed in these FAQs. How do I ask a new question?
Post your question in the "Post Your Questions Here!" discussion topic. A moderator will respond as soon as possible.
