The bom points and buddy read points are always cumulative, so they add up to those above. " ~ Sonia

Hey everyone! Welcome to Team Flitwick in Ravenclaw!
I hope everyone else is as excited as I am to get this challenge underway! I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you.
All the important information for playing Tower Teams has been linked in one of the above posts. For any questions that are not answered in "All about Tower Teams" or any other thread the mods put up, please feel free to ask in this thread. Amber, Caroline, and I will do our best to answer all your questions, or we'll conjure up an answer from the resources in captain's group. This frees the mods up to focus on getting everything up and running.
As always, the most important reminder is to read and have fun!
When checking in please post a link to your tower teams bookshelf (or the shelf name is fine if you aren't sure about linking). If you have time, we would love for you to introduce yourselves at whatever level of detail you are comfortable with.

I work from home in Dallas, TX, so I should be able to check in often most days. I travel to Austin most weekends to see my boyfriend, but that means I get through an audiobook every weekend. :-)
My reading time depends on my business travel. When I'm home I spend a lot of evenings reading, especially since my boyfriend lives 200 miles away. But when I am on a business trip, my reading is more unpredictable.
Aside from reading I enjoy cooking, wine & champagne, planning my next getaway, and sports. I read a lot of genres with the bulk being historical fiction or thrillers, but I usually avoid romance and westerns.

Hey Ashley! Welcome!

I've read the Harry Potter series a few times and seen all of the movies. I haven't decided if I will join in the series buddy read or not. I do want to reread the Kate Daniels series before the next book comes out (in August I think), so I am planning to participate in that reread.
I can't wait to see all the surprises the mods have in store for us!

Checking in. This is my third TT challenge and always looking forward playing and reading with team.
I'm from Estonia but I also consider myself a part-time Californian.
I read mostly UF , PNR, Fantasy and Romance, sometimes an occasional Historical Fiction or Mystery book.
My shelf is here

I read a variety of genres but prefer fantasy, historical fiction, paranormal, dystopian, post-apocalyptic, and magical. These often tend to YA or Middle Grade books but occasionally adult books as well, as many on audiobook as I can acquire through my library. I also like graphic novels but promise to set those aside for this challenge. ;)
I am currently actively seeking employment as a Communicative Disorders Assistant so for the time being am home most of the time. These jobs include infant hearing screenings, audiology/hearing testing, and speech therapy for all ages.
here's my shelf: tthogwarts2018

I live in Montreal, Canada and am working in a pharmaceutical company! I will be co-captain for the first time, but I have done a couple challenges already with NBRC.
I read many different types of books, but mostly Young Adult and Historical fiction. I prefer reading old-style, with an actual book ! But for challenges I will often sneak in some audiobooks.

I know some of you are on their first challenges, so be free to ask as many questions as you want ! We'll be there to make this SOOO much fun :)

I'm from Team Lockhart and just can't wait for something to happen in my team thread 🙈
Also hi hi Kirsten who I just finished the uno challenge with, and Ashleigh, I think we were on the same uno team 2 (?) years ago? Or was it last year? Honestly can't remember 😅

We're always happy to welcome a fellow Ravenclaw for chatting. Your captain lives on the west coast and should be coming back on the boards soon. Hang in there!!

I read pretty much only fiction - young adult, fantasy, sci fi, new adult, romance, historical fiction, and anything that someone can highly recommend. Please recommend me your favorites because I love finding new "hidden gems."
My shelf is titled tower-teams-2018
I have no idea if I linked it correctly, but fingers crossed

Let's see, who am I...
I'm a 36 year old, single mother of five, living in Washington state, and a self-employed energy healer... So my reading primarily happens late at night lol I read some of almost everything, fiction and non-fiction alike - I just want quality writing. But I do have a definite lean toward sci-fi :)
This is my first time participating in this particular challenge - I'm really looking forward to it! It has been a few years since I read the Harry Potter books, but nevertheless am a huge fan, and total Ravenclaw - so, I'm pleased to have been properly sorted, ha!

I'm from Team Lockhart and just can't wait for something to happen in my team thread 🙈

Hi Christina! *waves* it was last year as I was on the same team as you both then, though I can't recall our team name then... :)

Welcome Amy! The link worked great. Thanks!

I read mostly mystery/crime/thrillers and historical fiction. I go for YA or romance when I’m particularly stressed out at work. I also try to always be working on a non-fiction.
By day, I am a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry - big, big jet engines made by a company you probably thought only made cars.

Hey Megan! Welcome!

My first group challenge was a Tower Challenge, so these are always my favorite!
My shelf is Tower VI

I've read all the HP books and seen the films, liked them a lot but wouldn't call myself a fan. We visited the HP studios in London a few years ago and they were really cool. Did the Pottermore sorting hat thing and it concluded that I'm a Ravenclaw - no big surprise there - so it seems I'm in the right team, LOL!
Looking forward to playing with all of you!
Oh, almost forgot my shelf (too lazy to do a nice link):

Hi Christina! I believe it was last year we were on the same UNO team, alongside Kirsten. How did you get on this year? I think my team ended up 12th. But as always, it was fun!

And a LOT of us are doing TT as well now!! So this is definitely going to be interesting :)

Oh yes, of course we were! This year it was definitely the luck of the draw with the cards as we completed every hand we were given & every mini challenge task possible but still couldnt beat the other team to get first. (Not that winning is the priority).

I agree I like his 2nd look better at least in terms of a team "mascot" but I had to go look it up (for my own sanity) because I had his first look in my head.

I am Kate. I also currently live in Virginia, a few miles outside of DC. I am an avid reader, and will read just about anything. I do shy away from romance, erotica and young adult books, but even those make it into my reading from time to time.
I participated in the first tower team challenge and have done most of them since then.
When not reading, I am playing with my nieces (4 and 7 years old), watching baseball/football/hockey/soccer, playing golf or knitting.
My challenge shelf is flitwick.

I have not started crocheting yet, but I have thought about it. I also have any number of squares waiting around for my attention. Maybe this winter I will work on a few of them...(do I say that every year?)

I have n..."
I started crocheting just in the last few years. & decided to embark on a GIANT project. A "temperature blanket" that spanned an entire year of high and low temps for two locations with one row per day that used coloured yarn based on when the temp appeared on my scale. (reds & oranges for warm days, blues & purples for cold ones) I was doing well for awhile but it had now sat incomplete for almost two years, as it took me 2hrs to do a single row/day. :(
Have any of you done any loom knitting?

My blanket squares have probably been sitting for about two years as well.
I haven't tried loom knitting. I've been telling myself no new projects this year until I do something with those squares. It does look intriguing though.
