Michelle Finazzo | 281 comments I plowed through The Lies of Locke Lamora, I just couldn't stop reading it. Scott Lynch is stingy with specific plot details that I'm urgently awaiting enlightenment on. Fortunately, it doesn't make me hate him or dislike the journey through the other parts of the story. I was quite emotionally damaged by an unexpected loss way too early in the narrative. I had already become quite attached to several characters. I wonder if you more easily accept a group of characters introduced in a familial setting than if you met each one indivdually. I quite misjudged that this was a Robin Hood and his merry gang of thieves tale when in actuality it is a bit more like A Game of Thrones. Having loved this installment so much, I immediately started reading Red Seas Under Red Skies. I might have an affinity for this author because he too was born and raised in Minnesota.

We are still slogging through the incomparable Claire Danes reading The Handmaid's Tale one sluggish chapter at a time. We are making very little progress chugging up this proverbial mountain like Sisyphus.
