I think this book is amazing. I have read it twice, and I discovered the second time was better than the first.

There is a lot of ancient mythology hidden in the characters and in the plot. A lot of the fun is guessing what myth or what ancient Greek, Norse, or Buddhist mythological person, concept or idea is being referenced.

The romance of Marco and Celia is very bittersweet, like most star-crossed romances, especially those of the 17th century (Like in King Arthur and the Knights).

This book is a homage to old myths and stories, mostly. With love, obviously.

That's very interesting, didn't know that. I've just recently gotten into mythology, so it's all very new to me. Will have to look up the connections.

I didn't know all that either but definitely loved it.

I wish there were more.
