I think this was the ONE group I didn't wanna be placed in. I dislike every theme in it... besides erotica! Lol.

This is gonna be one long hard challenge for me. :(

This was hard. Shapeshifters was an easy pick for me as #1, but I really did enjoy the early 20th century book. The era did appeal to me, but I wasn't sure if it was truly the era or just the writer. I love Josh Lanyon. That is why I put it as #3. I struggled with the ranking of science fiction and dystopia. I normally HATE dystopia but I love the In the Company of Shadows series. Also, I love science fiction, but The Pedlar and the Bandit King just didn't do much for me. Since Afterimage didn't really stress the dystopia world, I placed science fiction at #4, even though the science fiction book was my least favorite read.

I think this is the group most people didn't want...lol.

I know dystopia is one of my least favorite categories of all time.

Question:
Doesn't The Only Gold take place in early 20th century? I thought it did. Also, what period of time is Widdershins?

I had a book for every one of these genres *glares at the magical mixer*

I'm glad I'm not the only one groaning over these themes.

Widdershins takes place in 1897. :)

If Widdershins takes place in 1897, then how much time passes between book 1 and 2? If book two takes place at least 3 years later, I should be good. *fingers crossed*

Any (MM) suggestions for 'early 20th century thru WW2'!

I'd like something without the stupid dialogue/word usage (hard to find i'm sure) they use in historicals and something that falls right around the 150 page limit. Am I asking for to much?! lol

I'm sorry! I tried searching for suitable MM historicals, but they're all pre-1900s. :(

Whistling in the Dark is set in 1919!

Is there a page limit to this challenge? If not, Tamara Allen has another short free book set during the Great Depression, If It Ain't Love.

Josh Lanyon has a book, Snowball in Hell set in 1943. That's during WWII.

Another one from Josh Lanyon set in the 20s, The Dark Farewell.

Also, Lessons in Love, 1905.

There is a 150 page/45k word minimum.

James Lear's series beginnig with the The Back Passage takes place in the 1920s.

I haven't read, but this one was mentioned on the amazon mm thread from someone who reads a lot - Make Do and Mend (WW2)

So far for early 19th century we have:

Make Do and Mend
Bonds of Earth
The Back Passage - whole series is in time period
Lessons in Love - whole series in time period
The Dark Farewell
Snowball in Hell
