Hi Everyone, I have set out a schedule for the North and South Readalong. For the first ten days, we will be reading 2 chapters a day and then 3 chapters a day until the end of the month. You don't have to follow this schedule, you can read at your own pace of course :)

I love the read alongs with a schedule! Keeps me on track. I ordered it from book depository so I hope it makes it in time!

I've tabbed up my book for the readalong. I hope I can keep up with it. Looking forward to finally reading this.

Hi All.
If anyone is interested in doing audio alongside (or instead of!) text, the Naxos audiobook, narrated by Clare Wille, is excellent - just make sure you get the unabridged version! 😄
She does a fantastic job with character accents and audio may be useful for anyone interested in correct pronunciation of words written in dialect/regionalisms.

I will be listening the audio while reading a hard copy, alternating.

Of course you can join! You can read at your own pace or by this schedule. Whichever suits you. You can comment on the discussion post whenever you have a chance. Just a really relaxed readalong :)

Hi All! I started my reading today and finished 2 chapters :) It's my first Elizabeth Gaskell book. I quite liked her writing, easygoing, nice to read. I think I will like Margaret too, but we shall see. Hope you're all enjoying your Sundays and reading! Umut

I'm super excited to do this read along and reread North and South! I forgot how much preamble and background details there were in Harley Street, but I like it. I also like how we're getting to know Henry Lennox.

I am so enjoying the start of the book already.. I loved Cranford and Wives and Daughters but this is my first time through North and South. Delightful beginning.

I have always wanted to read this book! Still patiently (or impatiently) waiting for my copy to arrive from Book Depository.

Okay I finally received my book from book depository! Just like Jane Austin, it will take me a few chapters to get used to the languages and narrative style.
