Dawn (baseballblondie) | 1166 comments I have a few questions.

1. Can a book (ie historical fiction) work in more than one category (example, page count, set out of the US, author with three names)?

2. Are the list of categories showing up on our chat/review threads the ones that are assigned to the pair?

message 4: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments What about books already begun? I have a couple review books I abandoned awhile back that I would like to finish up for this. Is that allowed?

Yes, you can pick them back up and don't have to restart them. :) Just no rereads.

1. you can only use a book for one category. So if you read The Lacemaker you could choose to use it for historical fiction, Read a book with 400+ pages, Read a book with a single woman on the cover, etc. You just can't use one book for multiple categories. I hope I understood the question correctly. :)

2. Yes, the list in the team's threads are the ones assigned to that duo.

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) *Read a book with an author with three names (must be on the cover)

Would an author that shows two initials and a last name (e. g., C. S. Lewis) work for this category?

Sarita | 1386 comments Does a pier qualifies for bridge - for example Lethal Homecoming (Tanner Hollow #1) by Lynette Eason

message 12: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1386 comments Also, for the following categories:

*Read a book published in the spring (March-June)
*Read a book published in the summer (June-September)
*Read a book published in the fall (September-December)
*Read a book published in the winter (December-March)

Is that all published in 2018 or does any publishing year count?

Kimberly (ksnapier) | 705 comments I really should stop looking at my books. Does Valley of the Moon by Melanie Gideon work for having a moon on the cover. It is the word, but it is on the cover?
HUGS

message 25: by Melanie, ✞Moderator, Avid Reader, & Blogger ✞ (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
That would not work. It needs to have a moon on the cover.

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) *Read a book with a suitcase/luggage on the cover

The Boy from Tomorrow by Camille DeAngelis <---The boy on the cover of this book is using a backpack for luggage. Would this work for the above task, Melanie? I need to read and review this book soon for NetGalley. :)

message 31: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 1527 comments Mail-Order Bride Switch (Stand-In Brides) by Dorothy Clark will be my luggage one. Don't know if that helps anyone else. :)

Thanks, Hannah! Yes, the challenge ends when you complete your list. No stressing about finishing a book before a deadline. 😊 If a review thread goes inactive for 30+ days, it will get archived though.

R.A. Melanie wrote: "Thanks, Hannah! Yes, the challenge ends when you complete your list. No stressing about finishing a book before a deadline. 😊 If a review thread goes inactive for 30+ days, it will get archived tho..."

Right, that makes sense!! :)

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) *Read a book with a mode of transportation (car, boat, bicycle, etc.) on the cover

I Can Only Imagine A Friendship with Jesus Now and Forever by Bart Millard <---The wagon on the cover of this book is being used as a mode of transportation for a dog. Would this work for the above task, Melanie? This is another book I need to read and review for NetGalley. :)

Also, "MercyMe" is also on this book's cover, which is a Christian music band that the author of this book, Bart Millard, is the lead singer of. This book and its title are also inspired by MercyMe's hit song I Can Only Imagine. So Melanie, would this book work for the below task?

*Read a book with something musical on the cover or in the title

message 41: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (baseballblondie) | 1166 comments Question... Let's say that I read a novella collection of 7 books. I'm just throwing the number out there. Would each novella count for a topic or would only the entire collection? Example Hearts Entwined has 4 novellas. (yes I know I finished it before the challenge started, but it's the first one that came to mind for me). Would the first story count for the historical one, the second for a main character in a profession (doctor), third for a mode of transportation (camels are the main method of transportation), and last for another topic? It's late, and I really can't remember what it was about. I hope I m making sense. I'm fine either way.

message 42: by Melanie, ✞Moderator, Avid Reader, & Blogger ✞ (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
Dawn, you could only count them for different categories if the novellas were also available separately. If the novellas are ONLY available in the collection, then it would have to be counted as one. :)

message 43: by Melanie, ✞Moderator, Avid Reader, & Blogger ✞ (new)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
Monique, you can count that for transportation. It won't work for the music category, since I don't see anything musical on the cover. :(

message 44: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (baseballblondie) | 1166 comments Thanks Melanie. That makes sense.

message 45: by R.A. (new)

R.A. Question: would the word "official" work for the *Read a book with a police officer or soldier (must include text which mentions them) category? :)

Melanie (lovebeingvegan) | 9915 comments Mod
Could I have the sentence in which it is used?

message 47: by R.A. (new)

R.A. Melanie wrote: "Could I have the sentence in which it is used?"

“Next please,” the voice of the official fromthe day before broke into the room, and they suddenly realized they were standing before the desk.

I'll look and see if there's a better sentence. :)

message 48: by R.A. (new)

R.A. Okay, I found a sentence mention security guards. Would that work? Two security guards shuffled out behind her.
