I read the original version, but I know Judith Mcnaught re-released Whitney without all the dark content. I don't necessarily like when authors censor their own work, but I can understand why she did. Not everyone nowadays wants to read hardcore bodice rippers lol. Still, Clayton being Mr. Nice Guy in the rewrite (which I skimmed) is soooooo weird.
