A Song of Ice and Fire, “A Storm of Swords,” is the third book in George R. R. Martin’s series. After the first two having massive battles and fights, I didn’t think it could get more intense, but it did. The deceit that occurs in this book is unmatched. Although I didn’t finish it in time, it still truly had enough action in 50 pages. The different angles and character perspective gives the book a whole other dimension that can’t be looked past. The book will make you feel a massive amount of emotions and is truly amazing. After the death of King Renly and the defeat of Lord Stannis, the kings have been narrowed down massively. King Joffery still stands at the thrown (indefinitely), King Robb of the North is still young and inexperienced, but still has hunger for justice and heart. A new King, the King of the Iron Islands, comes into play. They declare a side and take the homelands of the enemies, and add spices like no other. The plot in this book is insane and more Kings will go down, and more will rise up. Hero’s will fall (the red wedding) and new ones will rise. This book gives a great sense of intensity and will leave you speechless. There is no weakness anywhere I don’t believe, although some of the characters plot is slow moving, the progress they make is still massive, such as that as Arya and Bran. The book demonstrates little weakness and is truly hard to put down. With twist and turns at every corner, this book truly makes it enjoyable to read. You fall in love with each character and the setting that they are in only makes the book deeper. The conflict that occurs leaves you speechless and makes you feel happy, sad, excited, and content. The book itself truly puts the series over the top and was truly enjoyable to read. It’s truly amazing to watch the growth of each individual character and watch as they develop into villains, or heroes. Nobody is safe in this book and it is every many for themselves. I recommend this book to just about anyone. The plot and the betrayal that occurs are astonishing and I’m sure the last 300 pages contain even more deceit. When you think the series couldn’t get any better, it does. I recommend any reader of any genre to read the whole series as it will truly make you fall in love with characters and make you feel as if you are in the magical world of Westeros.
