Austenesque Lovers TBR Pile Challenge 2018 discussion

I'm posting this somewhat early because I will be out of town and offline when I usually post up, but I wanted to be sure that I had everything in place for business as usual around here. :) If I could beg a favor? Those old pros who know how this works, could you please be on the watch and help out any newcomers who might have questions or be confused by the process? Thanks a bunch!

If you are willing to place one of your August reading choices in the hands of another person, leave a comment here with at least five books and no more than ten from your TBR shelf. Participants need to leave comments no later than July 25th.

Here's how it will work:
Sophia will match people up and leave a comment with a list of who will choose for whom.
When you see the person you are to pick for, then just look at their list in the above comments and leave a new comment with their name and the book you chose for them by July 31st.

You also need to watch and see what book your person chose from your list for you.
You have the rest of the month to read the book.

So if this sounds like something you would like to do, just comment below leaving your name and list of book choices for someone to pick your August book.

Enjoy!!! One of my Austen book clubs went there in January for a weekend. They had a good time (I wasn't able to go).

Hey Tlotem... I am picking #2 Confounding Caroline. It is a short read and I really enjoyed it. I haven't read the others. Hope you enjoy it.

Hi Jeanne! My choice for you is the Dearest Friends set by Pamela Lynne. I love her writing and I'm pretty sure you're going to enjoy these two.

Done Jeanne, as you told me it was a quick and enjoying read. I gave it 4* .
I enjoyed seeing Darcy working on all his mistakes. Jane was brilliant in this book. But I found Elizabeth too easily being persuaded to change her mind about Darcy.
It's the first book I'm reading from this author because none of her books are on KU.

Great Tlotem... I thought you'd like something quick. I hope you get a chance to read more of her work.

Thank you Sara! Giving this one 3.75. As someone wrote in their review...the 1st half was fantastic...the 2nd was... paranormal?!!? I certainly wasn't expecting that! And Marianne Brandon only appeared very briefly. :( :( :(

Thanks for choosing this one for me, Patricia. I actually managed to get it finished in August (just), which I didn't think I'd do at one point. What I hadn't realised was how big a part the Christian faith played in the plot. As I'm not a person of any faith, that's normally quite a put-off for me. However, I found that it fitted into the story quite well, without being overly preachy. And I loved this outcome for our favourite Colonel!
