Dare Me
question
last chapter's meaning

I have trouble understanding the last chapter. The stunning last sentence, "cheer-leading showed me how to be a leader", what does this really mean? Does it mean that Addy now knows how to eliminate a rival? That Addy, not Beth, has deliberately set everything in motion?

My interpretation is that it simply means Addy has finally stepped out of Beth's shadow. Beth is no longer in the picture, having symbolically killed herself, and Addy can now be Top Girl.
