do we claim house ranks in the plot thread, and do we need to claim subjects for teachers?

you dont need to claim subjects for the teachers no
and if youd like a character to be a specific house, you can just put that on their template, but if youd like to genuinely have them undergo the trials of aptitude in rp and have their house sorted, we can do that
as for the void thing, i think id like to have the trials rped out with the character and see if they fit that house, just cause i have a specific plot in mind that i'll be moving along as rp goes

they are just very powerful beings that are perceived as gods
like aphrodite is an actual person, people wrote stories about her, she still lives, but they didn't actually do any of the world changing things that the stories say, they were just people with extraordinary abilities

gods aren't actually gods in this rp
because those who were touched by the abyss and thus labeled "sparked," are born with abilities or the capabilities that a god might have
gods were what they were called back then, in the era of greeks and romans, and before that as well, but they don't have anything over other characters besides age and aren't extremely powerful because they are specific gods
if that makes any sense

How would you even make it onto the overseeing counsel? So you just request that you want your character to be on it?

yeah pretty much
the overseeing council basically just monitors campus activity and reprimands teachers who arent doing their job or are doing things against the rules
they also work doubly to secure the school once this civil war breaks loose

Also does anyone have any suggestions for a characters attitude? I think I'm going to make an inccubus student and idk if he should be like a regular demon or a softie

mm i personally really love the idea of an inccubus going against their nature and actively trying not to be seductive, or their nature and their intent conflict, that's really interesting

When making characters, I assume we're going off a Wiki associated with the species we chose?

if youd like to yeah, it depends on what species, like if theyre the basic werewolf and whatnot then most people know the basics already

Character question, I was thinking of making a Faerie but i'm not sure if he would be a child of the Moon? I usually end up making dark Faeries (who are naturally inclined towards evil natures) so I thought moon would be correct but i'm not sure!

probably moon but honestly it doesnt really matter too much
the influence is a plot device but wont yet be implemented much, it's a means of bias at the moment
so like those born under the moon are expected to turn out evil
but they dont always meet that expectation
