Sarah’s first encounter with Rachel Upchurch was odd to say the least. What was your understanding of her statement about her husband when Sarah visited her at home? Did you think she meant young girls, as Sarah inferred, or the young boys?

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments I knew she meant boys because I already suspected Upchurch's preference for males. Also, her comment that Upchurch was disgusted by women solidified this.

I thought she meant boys, too. Maybe it was tough for Sarah to go there as the subject was so taboo in that era.

Phrynne | 607 comments I thought that too Jonetta. The priest/boy thing is obvious to us but would not have been to Sarah
