What are your thoughts about how the church handled confronting Upchurch through the Sunday service? Did you have a clue as to what they were doing? Was there any other way?

It was a very good approach. Their method protected the boys and sent a clear message to Upchurch.

My only caveat was that Upchurch might just move on to another community and carry on regardless. His death was an easy resolution albeit not that believable given his personality.

Their approach was perfect and I don’t think Mrs. Evans and some of the other church members would have let him go quietly into the night, either. I didn’t see it coming.
