Read 28 books for the past 7 months. Of the 28 here are the:
Best: Artemis by Andy Weir
Read for week 3: A book from the 2017 Goodreads Choice Awards
It just resonated with the nerd in me.
&
Worst: How to Marry a Marquis by Julia Quinn
Read for week 1: A book with the letters A, T & Y in the title
It started out with such a promising main character, then it was just disappointment after disappointment.

I finished seven books in August! But I only had one 5-star book and the rest were 3-stars.
Best: Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
Read for week 2: A book from the first 10 books added to your To Be Read list - 4th on the list at the time of choosing
Oh my goodness! I added this in 2011 because, of course, it's a classic, but it exceeded my expectations. I have a love-hate relationship with Scarlett O'Hara, but the depiction of the Civil War and Reconstruction Era really rounded out this book. I highly recommend this.
&
Worst: None.
The other books are just so-so but I wouldn't call any of them the worst.

Yey, another fan of the book. I was surprised that I liked it so much. I expected it to be more of a romance book because of the movie posters I see of it. But it had only elements of it, so it wasn't overpowering.

Best: Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
Read for week 11: A literary fiction
This just had such beautiful writing.
Disappointing: The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead
Read for week 32: An alternate history book - also Aug BOTM
It's not a very bad book. I rated it 3 solid stars, but I definitely felt that it was too hyped up.

Best: Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
Read for week 11: A literary fiction
This just had such beautiful writing.
Worst
Disappointing: [book:The..."
Rebecca is another one of my absolute favorites, I've read it so many times :-)

Best: Wild Magic by Tamora Pierce
Read for week 33: A book connected (title, cover, content) to a word "born" in the same year as you - 1989: beatdown & eco-friendly
I love fantasies and animals, and this has both. Tamora Pierce is also on one of those must-read lists of women of SFF and this is the first time I've read something of hers, and it definitely won't be the last.
2nd Best: The Witch of Duva by Leigh Bardugo
Read for week 30: A short book
I had to give this a shoutout because after reading this amazing short story, it's what made me look for more books with witchery, which led me to the above book (though Daine from Wild Magic is more of a mage than a witch).
&
Worst: None again. :)

Best:
Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
Read for week 12: A book set in Africa or South America
This was beautiful and sad.
No "worst" book again.

Bests:
1. Sadie by Courtney Summers
Read for week 49: A book from one of the Goodreads Best Books of the Month lists - September 2018
This was just so unexpectedly good! It was suspenseful and just written so well.
& (It's a tie!)
2. Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb
Read for week 42: A book that takes place on, in, or underwater
I've read Hobb before and was blown away. Her work is just amazing, and this book is beautifully character-driven.
Worst: To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
Supposed to read for week 50: A book with a warm atmosphere, plus it's the December BOTM, but I'm calling it the December Bottom.
It's just too fluffy.

I'm so glad that I got back into this challenge, even if I did start in July. I love reading, and I love finding new books and authors to read.
Top 3 Books:
1. Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
2. Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb
3. Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
They're all different genres, but coincidentally, they're all written by women.
Bottom Book: To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
Favorite Prompt: 49. A book from one of the Goodreads Best Books of the Month lists
I chose from the September 2018 list and it led me to Sadie by Courtney Summers, which is probably in my top 5. This was an unexpectedly good book for me because I've never heard of the author or heard much about the book.
