Ron Scheer | 28 comments So I just read a post where someone mentioned that the Percy Jackson books were the ones that really got her interested in reading. I think maybe we all have one special book that it did for us, and I thought it might be fun to share what that book was

Deaths coming torture mastrer-if you want someone torture he wil | 993 comments Their are 2 books who I think made me a reader. One was the series of unfortunate events books, if one was the start it is probably this I started to read it in year 5 and loved it. The reason why this is not on its own because it didn't spread my reach. This series made me love to read but not books the other two did that
Two was Percy Jackson, I love this series and it is because of it I love books, when ever I think of a series I love it is this. While series of unfortunate events was the first this one made me realise things that could happen in books and from their I read any book I could lay my hands on.

regan For me, the Series of Unfortunate Events sort of began my reading interest. Then the Percy Jackson books got me HOOKED and in complete utter LOVE with reading. Reading those books is the best thing that's ever really happened to me.

The Magic Tree House series was the first series that I was a total fangirl about and got me interested in reading, but Septimus Heap got me searching for books constantly. XD

beth (beth01) | 3530 comments The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan. I was always a big reader, but this book really sort of started everything...

Craig "NEEDS MORE DAMN TIME TO READ !!!!" I had never been interested in reading much up until i was maybe around 30 years old. The day i became an old fart haha. I started my reading journey with classics such as The three Musketeers, Ben Hur and so on, haven't looked back since! I do wish I'd have begun reading seriously a lot sooner though :(

message 29: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 2 comments The series that got me reading to the extent that I could not sleep was the Rangers apprentice when I was 11 since then I've been able to read 6 books in 1 week and I LOVE BOOKS

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) That book that really hooked me was way back in first grade. My mother gave me a kid's version of "White Fang" by Jack London, and I read that thing until it fell apart.

message 31: by Ida (new)

Ida Ghramm | 2 comments I really got hooked on reading at a super young age...my dad used to read Uncle Wiggly books to me when I was little and I just took off from there. When I got a little older, the Little House on the Prairie books really drew me in and I just took off reading like crazy after that.

message 32: by Purity (new)

Purity Mwendwa (puritymwendwa) | 1 comments I started reading Nancie Drew and Goosebumps books when I was like seven years old. I would even sneak books to boring lessons and read them under the desk.

message 33: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1 comments Maximum Ride and The Warriors series as a kid! For some reason normal humans didn't do the trick.
