If you have not dived into the Enneagram conversation and don’t know where to start, "Self to Lose, Self to Find" by Marilyn Vancil is the perfect place to dip your toe in the water.

Not only does Marilyn present all of the research and resources she has found and utilized, Marilyn also intertwines her information with Christ-centered values in the most simplistic way. She uses a third of the book to explain the works her book references and ties them into the Christian faith. It is helpful that Marilyn can connect the biblical story, the Enneagram and real-life experiences all into one book.

After that, she begins to go into more detail, but not as much as the authors of "The Road Back to You" do. This makes "Self to Lose, Self to Find" a great primer to "The Road Back to You" as it presents the background of the Enneagram and what it has to do with your faith. She explains that it isn't a psychological, personality test that you may be feeling this is all about. Rather, it opens the door to what God had made you become in His image, to better understand what makes you tick, what makes you stride, what makes you... well, you.

This is a natural path of knowing who you really are in God’s eyes, and I hope you will dive deeper into not only discovering what your number is but also enabling yourself to experience God’s endless grace for those around you.
