This is a really cool analysis of why it only -appears- that Hollywood adaptations are generally worse than the books. She even uses Goodreads ratings as a method of looking at the data!

Interesting theory! I used to think it is usually the fault of a lousy production on one side and high expectations on the other side :)

I am confused though. The first half of the video speaks about a negative correlation between goodness of the books and the movies, but the statistics later in the video appear to show a positive one. More dots were in that upper triangle than they were below... However, for a really serious analysis, data should include exclusively the numbers of those who did both read the book and watch the movie. That would be a daunting task...
