Here's where you share which book in the "In Death" series you are currently reading.

message 5: by Geannie (new)

Geannie Bastian | 7 comments First HI HI HI. I made it!

Second, I’m about to start 13, which...*checks list* is Seduction. (Well that’s dubious, there’s been so much seducing already....)

message 6: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendykw) | 43 comments I've read them all twice, except for Wonderment (once for that one, I have it on hold at the library) and Leverage. I plan to re-read Leverage this weekend and savor the sweet moments. The murders are so sad in Leverage.

message 7: by S.R. (new)

S.R. Garrae (srgarrae) | 20 comments Leverage. Arrived overnight, thank heavens! Already halfway.

message 8: by Kate (new)

Kate Burkholder (katebecks19) | 12 comments I only just finished the first book and will probably wait to start the second one till the end of the month when I'm on vacation in Florida.

message 9: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin Polo | 25 comments I just finished Holiday, #7 and now I'm reading the little novelle Midnight. After that I want to take a break and read those two newest fanfics from Garrae before I continue with the next In Death book.

Still reading ‘Imitation’ but listening to ‘Hot Rocks’ the Nora Roberts portion of ‘Remember When’ now so I can start ‘Big Jack’ when I finish ‘Imitation’.

Finished Hot Rocks. I'll start Big Jack later today.

message 13: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin Polo | 25 comments Finished #8, Conspiracy and already started #9, Loyalty. Pure addiction :)

Still on Big Jack, but I'm hoping to finish it soon.

Wendy (wendykw) | 43 comments On my third trip through In Death and just finished Reunion In Death.

message 17: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin Polo | 25 comments Started yesterday with Witness in Death and the first chapter was already so good, had me laughing and smiling about Eve & Roarke. I wanted to read Castle fanfic after all those In Death books, but I can't lay them down. I'm too curious about all the wonderful characters. :)

message 18: by Lucia (new)

Lucia | 6 comments I just read so far Naked in Death. I was thinking to read the books in electronic format, as ebook or in Kindle. But when I went to buy the second one, Glory in Death, I got lost in the different editions for a single tittle. Can anybody advise if it is better one edition over another? Any preference? Thanks in advance.

There really shouldn't be too much difference between the ebook/Kindle editions besides the cover and just a bit of the formatting. Though I'm not the best to ask, since I'm reading the physical books.

message 20: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Gibson | 1 comments Reading DARK IN DEATH.

Hi Travis, noted and thanks for your reply. Is that how it goes with physical books, no difference between editions?
BTW, I don't know if I posted it in the right place, feel free to change it if you thin this should have been another thread of discussion,

message 22: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin Polo | 25 comments I really need to tell you how much I enjoy Witness in Death. It is not the best case, not the most exciting or thrilling murder, the team is not in any danger (so far, I'm currently at chapter 16) but the writing is hilarious.

Eve planning a dinner for Roarke is so funny.
Drunk Peabody and the whole dialogue around that scene is just the best writing, I love this kind of humor.

So, if the case is not the most thrilling thing you can be sure that J.D. Robb gifts us with funny scenes and dialogue.

And the romance is precious as well. ;-)

going to start reading Divided in Death tomorrow.

message 24: by Clovis (new)

Clovis | 1 comments I read all the way through Dark in Death and then found out about the novellas. So I restarted the series so I could read the novellas in the order in which they were intended and understand the character relationships as they were at the time. I am just starting Thankless in Death in my reread campaign.

on the first day of 2019, I'm going to start Visions in Death

message 26: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 11 comments I was about to start Festive in Death when I came across another novella, Big Jack, and decided to do that first.( If you are buying kindle books the reviews on Amazon are a great source for figuring out what is what with the novellas since the are published in more than one place, btw) So I bought "Remember When" and read the first one, the Nora Roberts one, Hot Rocks, in preparation for the sequel with Dallas and Roarke. Then I got it into my head to read the novel immediately preceding the novella, Imitation in Death, but got sidetracked into rereading Reunion in Death! As you can see, I spend a lot of time trying to slow myself down because I don't want to run out of reading material too soon.

So, I will finish Imitation, then do Big Jack, the novella, then probably move on to Festive in Death.

I’m now reading SURVIVOR IN DEATH

message 28: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin Polo | 25 comments I'm reading Betrayal in Death right now and I have to say it's a little darker than some others. It's getting personal, there is someone who wants to destroy Roarke. There is not so much humor in it so far, but I enjoy it anyway because it's well written as always. I might have a little clue on the perpetrator but it could be a misleading from the writer.

message 29: by Lucia (new)

Lucia | 6 comments I'm reading Ceremony in Death and I find it quite disturbing. I'm waiting for something bad to happen to Eve on each corner. I can't leave it!!

message 30: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin Polo | 25 comments That was the one book I didn't like at all. I am not a fan of any rituals or such things. So this was one shallow story but so far, it was really the only one.

message 31: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin Polo | 25 comments I started Seduction in Death a few days ago. I like it so far.

message 32: by Zoe (new)

Zoe Keller (zoesbooksession) (zoesbooksession) | 2 comments I'm reading Remember When! Wasn't hooked from the first few chapters but I think its mostly because it isn't with Eve and Roarke and I just miss them terribly. I'll push through though because people seem to be saying they liked it and that it's good to have read the first part before the second (with Eve and Roarke <3 )

I'm now reading Origin in Death.

message 34: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 11 comments Just finished Secrets in Death. The 2 just before (Apprentice ... and Echos..) were both more heavy duty in terms of the crimes, difficulties for Eve's emotional states, danger to Eve, etc. This one was much lighter. I think this must be a deliberate pattern to vary the impact in this way. Reminds me of how Castle used to do that - after a heavy duty one, or 2 parter, the next was usually lighter and more fun. In Secrets the victim was a really awful so we didn't feel so badly she was murdered. The killer is a bad guy, however, and because he kills a 2nd, very sympathetic/innocent, person before the novel ends Dallas gets great satisfaction taking him down.

I love the way E and R's maturing/evolving relationship is portrayed in this one as well.

message 35: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendykw) | 43 comments I too have noticed that sometimes a lighter novel follows some heavy ones in the In Death series. Most recently Leverage in Death had a plot that made me wish I could strangle the murderers with my own hands. They were truly despicable people.Leverage is murder plot in the forefront, with Eve and Roarke in danger. The next novel, Connections in Death, is one of my favorites of the series. It spent more time with Eve and Roarke, their relationship, and their circle of friends.

message 36: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 11 comments If Leverage is real heavy duty that might help me to put a pause on my series reading. I hate the idea of not having new In Death books to read, and I am almost at the end. There is another, completely different, series I need to catch up on. After I finish Dark in Death I am going to really try to save Leverage and Connections for later. But it is hard to stop!

message 37: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendykw) | 43 comments I am so addicted to Eve/Roarke that as soon as I finish reading one book, I start the next. I get to the end of the series and start again. I mix in other books along the way. It's good I have time to read as much as I want.

now reading the novella Haunted in Death

message 40: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendykw) | 43 comments Haunted in Death is a good one. The "ghost" would have been my contemporary, and I imagined her as having Linda Ronstadt's voice.

message 41: by Kerstin (new)

message 43: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendykw) | 43 comments I'm almost finished with Memory In Death. This will be my 4th time reading it. I started Sense and Sensibility, but I keep wanting to smack Marianne. So, I suspend the reading of that book, and take refuge with Eve.

message 50: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendykw) | 43 comments Just finished Strangers in Death. Love the ending of that book. Posted a little tidbit on twitter.
I'm going to start Salvation in Death in a few minutes. I only have it on my iPad, via the Libby app, through 6/9. After that Pachinko just hit my Libby app, and it will be due on 6/16. I enjoy being retired and having so much time to read. I have a hold on Educated, and I hope I get these other books finished before it pops up on my Libby app.
