I am adding Anita's opinion she shared with me:
"My opinion of the book was that it was different. I think the story was ok but I didn’t like her writing style and I really wanted to know more about why her family was the way it was when she was growing up. I felt like she left things hanging there and there wasn’t a good explanation. Overall, I thought she didn’t go into enough depth with her stories in general. I think the only thing I really liked was that the chapters were short and I actually was able to finish the book on time."

After the conversation we had, one of the parts that bothered me the most was Lucy's surprise at her daughters reaction to her leaving the German husband. After thinking about it, I thought she is more like her mother than I thought. It seemed the mother was selfish with her feelings. Lucy was too. She had love for many people but apparently didn't show it, that might be why her daughters stayed with the dad.
The question I had for the group would be: "What was your high point and low point in the story?"
My high point was reading about Lucy paying for her sisters Yoga classes in the small town of Illinois.
Low would be the apparent ease of leaving her husband. I think that should be a bigger deal than what she made of it. Like another person suggested, we were left hanging and it wasn't explained very well. The money was explained better.
