I really do have too much to do that competes with reading time.

I petered out with #6 Bonehunters. I think also I was looking something more lighthearted than Malazan, although I fully expect to finish the series.

RotCG is a spin-off isn't it?

Its Esslemont’s 2nd “Novels of the Malazan Empre”. They are def not Erikson, but so many key characters showed up in RoCG.

It is a LOT of reading. But the Malazan books top my list of priority reads, plus I need Scott’s notes and the forum!

Yay! I’m not the only one 😊. I topped commenting there because there are so many and I get nervous.

Frankly, I've got my own stories to tell, and if I read everything in sight I'll never get them done.

Youre not stupid Mel. By now, theres probably only 6 or 7 of us that are caught up/one book behind on the forums (we were the 2nd group, not the one starting this yr)! So theres not a ton of us anymore.

Hi All, I found the original receipt in my trade paperback copy of this book. I purchased it on the 8th of October 1996.

I'm reading it for the first time with this buddy read. So this book waited in my library for more than 22 years to get read...

Sounds familiar. My cousin gave me a copy of Curse in the early 90s and i never read it until last year's BR.

Bibliophiles’ lives always have stories like that, if you did deep enough.

I sell my books to second hand book shops ... so, the two books, Curse and this one survived multiple purges.

Well good. The greatest thing about books it that all readers get something different from each character, plot, and so on...It is the same thing as food, everyone’s palate is different so we each get a different reaction to the identical food!

In the first BR, Dakar had his fans, and his ahem*detractors...lol

Finishing up Deadhouse Gates tomorrow, then will be all in, I hope 🙏

Actually, I don't get Dakar's behavior. He's very old and very immature.

You know what, I wanted to shake Dakar for about three novels, then I grew fond of him. Now I feel protective of him and in this second read-through actually am not as annoyed by his drunken idiocy.

That's great Olivia, now I can look forward to his redemption.

I have been asked by another GR reader/reviewer to clarify a few of his doubts regarding Curse of the Mistwraith. As I finally managed to get to my computer today, I added the answers to his issues at the back of my review.

In the first books I alternated in between wanting to strangle him and wanting to give him a big hug. Right now, what Olivia said. :)
