I've read all the books in this series and absolutely love them. Definitely an emotional roller coaster and I can't wait to see where the next book goes!

25% (view spoiler)[ This book is rough. This my friends is the real Hunger Games. What is even the point of this game. I hope we get some backstory. (hide spoiler)]

50% (view spoiler)[ So are we going to find out what is so special about Selena? I have a feeling that winning the game isn't going to save anyone. I honestly don't even know how they have stayed alive so far. Seems super hopeless. (hide spoiler)]

75% (view spoiler)[ I am not a fan of this book so far. All the violence and angst without any hope...and no reason for why it is occurring is really setting off my OCD. This relationship between Selena and Varick is not very convincing. (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[ Still have no clue what is happening here. Its obvious Varick has stumbled upon the plot but there really is not enough details to even guess what is going on. Where is Selena? Did she make it back home? The epilogue really did us no favors. (hide spoiler)]

It sounds like she is trying to seduce him, but he made it sound like he was incapable of getting it up unless he was fully fed - so what's the point? 78% - (view spoiler)[ "Don't win"??? Uh oh! This whole time I thought he was telling the truth that she would be able to go home if she wins. Was he lying? Or is there a punishment for winning? Will she get turned into a vampire? Ugh, so confusing. (hide spoiler)]
Finished - (view spoiler)[ First, the Helsings need to die! Please tell me that book 2 is Selena coming back to the island and kicking everyone's ass for Cass's death, etc. Second, aw! Varick loves her! So tragic that he had to stay behind and be punished. I hope that being reunited with Jameson will allow him to kick a little ass in book 2 also. Third, it is alluded to that Selena's blood might be the cure to vampirism. If so, I wonder why Varick didn't drink more of it when she offered. It seems like he was starting to want to be human again, right? (hide spoiler)]
