Zoe (zo-ereader) | 490 comments Duration: October 1- October 31st
Sign up period: Until September 30th
Partner pairings announced: October 1 (announced in this thread)

For FULL details of how the copy cat challenge works, please visit the 'About Copy Cat Challenge' post here ...

SUMMARY:
In this challenge, participants are paired up to choose and read a book from their partner's read shelf and compare how they each rated the book. It's a fun way to discover new books, to read from different genre(s), and to make PenPal connections. This challenge repeats monthly, and you sign-up separately for each month you wish to participate.

COMPLETING THE CHALLENGE
- Week 1: Review your paired partner's 'Read shelf' and choose a book(s) to read. Post to this thread to update your partner on the book chosen. (You can ask them for suggestions too!)
- Week 1-4: Begin reading, and post any updates/thoughts as you read.
- Week 3-4: Complete your read, and post to the thread with final thoughts on the book and comparing how you and your partner each rated the book.

Participation = Post to thread (book choice), Read book, Post to thread (finished book thoughts)

NOTE:
- Please only sign-up if you are confident you have time to choose and read a book. If you are no longer able to participate after signing up, message a Mod or update this thread, so we can re-match, and no-one is left without a partner for the month!
- Remember to re-visit this thread on September 1 to see who you have been paired up with for the month (adding a calendar reminder helps!)

Amber M. McCarter (mommyultd) | 169 comments Greetings, Mion!

As usual, I can't decide. So here is my short list:
Gene Mapper
All the Bright Places
Born Scared
Slade House
None of these are familiar to me - not even Slade House, even though I've read several by that author - so this will be a good exploration :) Hopefully you can find something that appeals to you from my shelves!

Kaviya (kaviyaarivoli) Thanks a lot Anne for the effort

Chloe Reads Books (chloee_matthews) Hi Nikki,

Looking forward to reading with you!

I am going to read Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I have this on my TBR for October anyway, so it's a great one to read from your shelf. I'm not actually planning on reading this towards the end of the month but I thought I'd let you know now.

If you need any help choosing from my shelves, let me know!

Hello Kaviya,

I checked your read shelf and I select "The Bear and the Nightingale" from it. I have it on my bookshelf for almost a year now and seems like a perfect time to pick it up.

Annie | 89 comments Hi Alahomora,
I have decided to go with Astrophysics for People in a Hurry as it is a book that keeps cropping up on my radar, I hope you are enjoying the Martian!

Happy Reading!

message 26: by Amber M. (new)

Amber M. McCarter (mommyultd) | 169 comments Oops, almost forgot that I hadn't actually posted my completion here. Finished Gene Mapper a day or two ago. It was certainly intriguing, but I wish it had delved a little more deeply into the possible physics and so forth behind the technology it kept introducing - it would have gotten four stars from me if it had!

Mihika Sawant | 15 comments I finished The Bear and the Nightingale and ohh I so loved it....Russian tales have that effect. The writing style makes the entire russia live in front of your eyes. I want to pick up The Girl in the tower immediately now!!!!

Tiina (cauchemarlena) | 371 comments Dear Amber!

I forgot to update it here, but I finished The Talented Mr Ripley. It was so much better than I anticipated! I'd seen the movie before and didn't really enjoy it. I have yet to pick up the Giver, although I'm probably going to get to it in the next couple of days.

M.

Kaviya (kaviyaarivoli) Hello Mihika I did finally complete forty rules of love . It was truly mystical. Very few books take you on a spiritual journey . This book doesn't not advertise anything but accomplishes a lot.

I am not a religious person but reading this book I felt maybe I am seeing religion differently.

"You can purify your body through abstinence or fasting , but only love will purify your heart "

These were my favourite lines.

I am glad I choose this book and I rated it a full 5 stars .

Annie | 89 comments Hi Alahomora,

I found Astrophysics for People in a Hurry interesting, I had to make a few notes along the way so I wouldn't forget terms but, I really like how he writes! Hope you are enjoying the Martian :)
