Lieutenant Eve Dallas puzzles over a bizarre suicide bombing in a Wall St. office building in the latest in the #1 New York Times bestselling series…

For the airline executives finalizing a merger that would make news in the business world, the nine a.m. meeting would be a major milestone. But after marketing VP Paul Rogan walked into the plush conference room, strapped with explosives, the headlines told of death and destruction instead. The NYPSD’s Eve Dallas confirms that Rogan was cruelly coerced by two masked men holding his family hostage. His motive was saving his wife and daughter―but what was the motive of the masked men?

Despite the chaos and bad publicity, blowing up one meeting isn’t going to put the brakes on the merger. All it’s accomplished is shattering a lot of innocent lives. Now, with the help of her billionaire husband Roarke, Eve must untangle the reason for an inexplicable act of terror, look at suspects inside and outside both corporations, and determine whether the root of this crime lies in simple sabotage, or something far more complex and twisted.

Eve (everf) | 815 comments Hey Junkies! Does anyone plan to read LEVERAGE IN DEATH?

Jonetta (ejaygirl) I’ve already read it. It was one of the classic police procedurals in the series. I especially enjoyed the secondary storyline involving Nadine and the Oscars.

Eve (everf) | 815 comments Thanks Jonetta :) Great to hear the secondary storyline involves Nadine.
I like that in this series Eve & Roarke have remained the main couple-focus, but there's very strong supporting cast. Hard to imagine this series without e. g. Peabody or Sommerset.
Hope to start soon.

I'm waiting to get it from my library. Right now, I'm third on the hold list and there are three copies, so it shouldn't be much longer. I'm looking forward to reading it. This is my very favorite series!

I already started and Jonetta was right - its one of the classic police procedurals.

Judy | 2571 comments Well, I finally got this book from my library and I see that it is one of the semifinal round nominees in the mystery & thriller category for the Goodreads Choice Awards.

Judy | 2571 comments Just finished this and I loved it. I thought it started off a little slow, but the pace picked up. I also liked the part about the Oscars and The Icove Agenda. That added a little levity.
