Hello, & welcome back for another month of scavenging! 😁 This month's challenge is to read a retelling of another story. Fairytale retellings have been pretty popular recently, but there are plenty more kinds of retelling out there, & anything counts! πŸ‘

Happy hunting!

As always:

Finished! And I'm left with quite the sense of accomplishment, though my feelings on the book itself were somewhat mixed. I enjoyed it, but the length (this is by far the longest book I've ever picked for the LSH) and the (probably too-)slow pacing made it a struggle to get through... I've posted a full review on my blog.

The book in question: The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, which is a retelling of Dracula. 😊

Tara Million | 20 comments I finally finished Two Years Eight Months and Twenty-Eight Nights by Salman Rushdie. It's a very loose retelling of the 1,001 Arabian Nights. I ended up giving it 3 stars because it just never really got me very excited about reading it even though it was a very well written and somewhat experimental literary novel. It definitely followed the classic story within a story leading to another story format of the Arabian Nights though.
