Linda | 1425 comments Thank you, Lorna! I knew you were doing the audio, I'm sorry I didn't think to offer to figure out the schedule since I have the book in hand. Anyway, I'm sure the schedule will be just fine. And like you said, we can always make adjustments down the road. :)

Rosemary My book doesn't have chapter numbers, only names :( I have the Arrow paperback with 910 pages plus an Appendix (not written by Stephenson).

I tried to map the chapter names to Lorna's schedule and it works out as below except that even without counting the prologue, I seem to have 102 chapters instead of 101.

It's not totally even, but the shortest sections are in January which might be good if people need catch-up time after the holidays. Anyway, I hope this helps. (Your page numbers may vary, obviously.)

Lorna, I have to say, this looks like a tough book for audio. There are codes and diagrams and such. But maybe they have ways to describe them.

Linda | 1425 comments I don't have my book with me today, but I think my chapters are numbered. I'll double-check when I get home tonight.

Yeah, I remember seeing a bunch of diagrams and stuff when flipping through it. I know one of my friends in another group is currently in the middle of a reread of this book, I'll find out if she is reading the print copy or doing the audio.

Linda | 1425 comments So my friend is listening to the audiobook and she said that it's easy enough for her to follow along, and that there was only one "mechanical gadget" that she could not easily visualize. And there is some math, but that she didn't think the print would have helped her in that case anyway. :)

Linda | 1425 comments So my chapters are named and not numbered, so thank you for the alternate schedule Rosemary!

Thanks Rosemary this was super helpful, I just picked up my copy and it also has chapter names only.

Rosemary That looks great, Lorna, thanks. I find with long books the last part always goes quicker.
