Teresa Hildebrandt (goodreadscomteresahild) | 10 comments Here in America we have the New York Times best selling list to check on what is selling hot and fast.
My question is this...what or who has a UK Best selling list? I want to know what is selling hot and fast across the pond as the readers in the UK are much more sophisticated.

Mike | 6 comments The Sunday Times used to do a best sellers list but I've not read that paper in many years. They (at least used to) give fiction and non-fiction lists.

Some bookstores eg Waterstones have thier best sellers lists but this may only include sales in their own stores.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 846 comments I expect you already go to Amazon.co.uk and check the best sellers there, and I wish I had something more to add but I don't know of any others, though good newspapers often report the year's best sellers between Christmas and New Year. You could check their archives? Bit of a drag...

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) | 687 comments Definitely British readers are more sophisticated! Here in the USA, the fiction best-seller lists are dominated by thrillers and horror novels and whatever was most recently adapted for the screen.

The Guardian online has a good section on books. Have you investigated BBC podcasts? I listen to 'Books & Authors', 'Bookclub' and 'World Bookclub' They may provide a reflection of what we're reading.
