message 2: by JJ (new)

JJ | 36 comments Right now I'm reading My Forbidden Face: Growing Up Under the Taliban, A Young Woman's Story by Latifa. I'll probably finish reading that today and then start on Mind Change by Susan Greenfield or The Great Gatsby by Fitzgerald. Hopefully I can finish both of those books in November.

Kelsey I'm still reading New Moon and Thor The Wind Raiser And The Eyrarland Image, so I hope to finish those by the end of the month. If not, then the end of the year.

I also started reading The Nightingale, but I won't finish that this month (two days left in October), so I'm considering it a November read!

I also picked up Popular: Vintage Wisdom for a Modern Geek from the library, so I hope to finish that this month as well! It sounds cute, but I haven't started reading it yet.

I really loved The Nightingale The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah . When I finished, I did some Googling and found out that one of the women was based on a real person. You'll know which one. Wow. Enjoy!!

Has anyone read the Red Sparrow trilogy?

I’ll be finishing Palace of Treason at the start of November and then finishing the series with The Kremlin's Candidate, though there’s one thing I’m pretty confused about from Palace of Treason and would love to talk to someone who’s read it to see if they can help me understand what I’m missing.

I also plan to start some Wool Universe fan fiction after I finish the Red Sparrow series.
Karma of the Silo
Silo Submerged
Going Dark

Hi Erin, Book 1 is on my wishlist. I'm trying to old out on watching the movie till I read the book, of course. WOOL is on my list also, but not quite as high up.

Feel free to nominate Book 1 in either series for one of our Book of the Month reads.

If you don't get your answer from one of the Book Snails here, you can always try posting your question on the book page for 'Palace of Treason' (there are a few Q&As already there)...

I didn't get a chance to read all my Halloween reads...so spooky November it is! LOL! I have a bunch of books out from the library that will need to go back sooner rather than later lol.

Thanks! Yeah, I work in a high school library for a private school that caters to the student body and all the staff, so I have to broaden my horizons, lol. ;-)

That "Library" book is a nominee for the GR Choice Awards (Nonfiction category). Don't let it give you any ideas about striking matches, though ;p

JJ | 36 comments So, I actually finished Mind Change and The Great Gatsby and two other books (The Four Wills of God, and The Flower Workshop). Now, I'm starting on "Of Other Worlds" by C.S. Lewis and "East Lynne" by Ellen Wood. I'm not going to finish East Lynne until December, if then. At least, I hope to finish Of Other Worlds before November is over
