I hope Becky Chambers continues to write stories for this fictional galaxy. This story was different from the previous two books. It spent more time with adolescent rebellion than I needed, but I had great sympathy for Tessa dealing with single parent problems while her husband worked months and light years distant. I appreciate that gender, racial, and species inclusion are are built into this fictional world. Despite the instance of violence that connected all of the characters, the Exodan Fleet was a pleasant place to visit.

I love this world! I love how different each book has been, it shows her versatility. I too hope she keeps writing more books for this universe!

I agree. It's great to have something meaningful, but a bit lightweight
to read in between more serious books. Although, given the ecological issues Chamber's incorporates, this book dovetailed strangely with The Overstory.

I’m really looking forward to reading this one. I love her inclusiveness too - her people are very real.

Thanks! I try to change them with the seasons, according to who is visiting my backyard. This one is a fox sparrow and I haven't actually seen one for a while. I may change it again if I can find a picture that I can correctly copy.
