Halloween in YA and Middle Grade Fiction
No picture books please, but YA, middle grade, and early chapter books are all welcome.

One list I'd like to recommend to everyone is the YA Novels of 2019 list. The original, which had almost 1500 voters, was attacked and deleted by trolls last month. We're working on rebuilding the list, so anyone who would like to vote is encouraged to do so!
I'm not quite an addict but I do use it. I wish GR would figure out a way to let us sort our own GR lists - both the ones we've created, or the ones we voted on. This would be highly useful to me.
They also need to let us vote for more than 100 books. I've run out of my vote allotment on countless lists.

The way you can sort your shelved books under "my books" - it would be nice to be able to sort your lists by title alphabetical, number of people who voted, number of books, date created. The way it is now, your listopias are static so you have to remember where each one is, or else spend time hunting for it.
It would also be nice to be able to search by title within your listopias, the way you can in "my books." Right now you can only search the entire database of listopias.

Rainbowheart, how can trolls delete someone else's list?! I didn't know that was possible.

Long story, but basically a "clean reads" censorship brigade came onto the YA lists making threats against librarians and saying they would report Goodreads to the FTC because they did not like the fact that some YA books by YA publishers had what they deemed to be adult content. A rogue librarian on their side would continually delete books even though she had been flagged dozens of times.
When a Goodreads employee finally appeared on the list and told them to stop, they planned a time when no Goodreads staff would be available and enlisted their librarian to delete every single book on the YA lists in retaliation. The 2019 list was completely deleted, and about 1500 people had their votes erased. The 2020 and 2021 lists also had hundreds of votes deleted, but thankfully they're still in existence!
I've been trying to drum up support for the new 2019 list ever since! It still burns me up that all those people had their votes obliterated, and the censorship brigade went unpunished. The librarian in question lost her librarian powers, but it seems that's all that happened.

The feedback group.
The feedback group.

Lobstergirl, thanks - I think I might have already asked for more than the 100 votes already, but I'll try again and throw in the other suggestions too!

That steamed me up, too. What's is the point of the Only delete books from the list that are totally miscategorized. Deleting books that aren't will result in a loss of librarian privileges, and possible deletion of account. We're super serious! note then? Just for frightening some timid ones?

These are fun and easy to compile. Just a bunch of lists with certain words or word configurations in the title. These are some of my favorites....
Mr & Mrs etc.
One Name as a Title
First AND Last Name Please
Books with 'Girl' in the title
Books with the word 'Boy' in the title
Please vote if you like! The more voters, the better. That way we can make the lists as comprehensive as possible.

Frosty Book Titles
Inside Your Wardrobe
A Kaleidoscope of Colors
Months or Days in the Book Title
The last one is brand new and could definitely use more voters!

Smoke and Fire
Title Challenge - Water
Fruits and Vegetables in Titles
Book Titles with Marine Mammals

Taste in Titles
Morning Things
Books with Beverages in the Title
Repetitive Titles and Titles That Are Repetitive

I like the title of that last one too. But I prefer lists based on theme, like the kids' Halloween list.

Menstruation and PMS in Fiction
Latina Leads in YA and Middle Grade Fiction

Summer Themed YA
Best Children's Books about Summer
Summer Camp Fiction for Young Readers
Picture Books About Summer Outdoor Activities

Books with Sin in the Title
Books with Angel In the Title
Books with Island In the Title
Books with Goddess in the Title

Another great one is Humorous, Strange, or Downright Shocking Titles.

Feminist interest 2020
Picture Books of 2020
Great Graphic Novels (released in) 2020
All of these could use more voters!

Runaways in YA and Middle Grade Fiction
Definitely needs more voters. I could only add 100 titles. I figure with as many questions as we get about books with runaway kids, it would come in handy!

Sorry! All of the ones I could think of were already there. But if you want to list some more here (or PM me) I can add them for you.

I had to leave out tons of newer books. Just searching Worldcat for "runaway children" and "runaway teenagers" gives hundreds.
If anyone has spare time on their hands, lol, there are plenty....

You could start second list as Part 2 and link both in the description, but it may be difficult to check for duplicates.

Problem is, when I tried to add a book, it would only show a later edition with a "modern" cover without a house on it.

Thanks, Rainbowheart, that (kind of) worked. "My" edition didn't have a ISBN, but another edition that showed the house did.

Books for a Pandemic
I have so many more I want to add, but I'm at the 100 vote limit. Who knew there were so many books about pandemics?

I have ads coming up on the right side of any Listopia list I click on. They just appeared out of nowhere, and I can't figure how to get rid of them. I have an adblocker.
What is happening?? Please tell me Goodreads didn't do this.

What sort of ads? If they're book ads, I've always gotten them.

I checked on someone else's account after I posted last night, and they didn't have them yet, and then when they checked again this morning, the ads were there.
How long have you been seeing them? It completely messes with the way Listopia looks. It's loud, distracting, and you have to scroll down on the page to vote for anything. The format is all messed up.

Some lists still have the old formatting (at least until I delete my cookies), but other lists have the new formatting. I'm not sure what the difference is; perhaps the old lists retain the original formatting?

I had to use my adblocker to get rid of the ads, but it still looks really weird to me.

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1... for one.
Like I said, I still have ads on the right, but I've always done. But this one still has the voting block for each book.

I still feel like the formatting is off, but oh well, I suppose I'll get used to it. I just wish Goodreads wouldn't spring changes on us out of the blue like that. Thank God for adblockers anyway, lol.

I noticed a few months ago that "YA" and "teen" were missing from most of my lists. So I added them back. They were there as recently as a week ago. I checked again today and they were missing again from all of my lists. "Teen" seems to have been erased from almost all lists, and "YA" has been removed from dozens of popular lists, not just mine. Checking the list history is no help. Adding or deleting keywords does not show up as a change a librarian has made, but it must be a fellow librarian removing them.

Thought this might be a good place for us to share and recommend lists to each other. I may be entirely too obsessed with Listopia, lol.
