If you are willing to place one of your February reading choices in the hands of another person, leave a comment here with at least five books and no more than ten from your TBR shelf. Participants need to leave comments no later than January 24th.

Here's how it will work:
Sophia will match people up and leave a comment with a list of who will choose for whom.
When you see the person you are to pick for, then just look at their list in the above comments and leave a new comment with their name and the book you chose for them by January 31st.

You also need to watch and see what book your person chose from your list for you.
You have the rest of the month to read the book.

So if this sounds like something you would like to do, just comment below leaving your name and list of book choices for someone to pick your February book.

Anji | 735 comments I've had to pass on the January group read, but I'm up for this one again. These are all for my 'book title alphabet challenge' and are the first unread Austenesque books listed for a particular letter on my Kindle. G. The Gallant Vicar and The Return of the Gallant Vicar: Two Pride and Prejudice Variations by Barbara Silkstone
H. The Heart Does Whisper by Cynthia Ingram Hensley
I. If Only In His Dreams by Melanie Schertz

K. The Keys for Love by Wendi Sotis

Ready to find out what book someone will pick for you to read this month?

For those who are participating for the first time, here is how this works. I've drawn each name randomly and I have them listed below my explanation. The person who is named on the left will pick for the name on the right. You pick by scrolling up to the person's list in the above comments.
Please may your picks by FEB 1st.
But, don't forget to check for what book someone chose for you. When you are done, you are welcome to come back and let us know what you thought about the book.

If, for whatever reason, you are unable to participate, no worries. Just let me know, if you can't make the pick and we'll make sure your person still gets a book to read from her/his list.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Christina Morland | 69 comments So excited to participate...but so indecisive about which of these wonderful books I should pick for Dana!

Okay, Dana, I’m choosing...so difficult, they all look so good...

A Lie Universally Hidden!

Enjoy! Looking forward to hearing what you think, if you have time to post about the book.

message 19: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 111 comments Mary I'm choosing seasons of waiting. That sound the most interesting to me that I want to read it too!

Kirk (goodreadscomkirkc) | 510 comments Hi Christina! Greetings from Eastern MA(hope you won't hold that against me).

I've been making selections for this activity on a regular basis. This is one of the hardest! The two books I've read I loved(and highly esteem both authors) and the other are very interesting!!!! Selecting....

3) Cake and Courtship

Enjoy!!!!!!

message 21: by Christina (new)

Christina Morland | 69 comments Kirk, thanks! I’m excited to read Cake and Courtship!

(And I won’t hold Eastern MA against you if you won’t hold Western MA against me...did you get hit as badly by snow, rain and ice as we did? Hope you’re staying warm out there in the wilds of Eastern MA! :-D).

message 22: by Debbie (last edited Jan 25, 2019 10:50AM) (new)

Debbie (dmbrown) | 633 comments Patricia, I've read most of the books on your list, and even though there are a lot of good ones there, it's an easy choice. I loved, loved, LOVED A Searing Acquaintance, so I have to pick that one for you. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

message 23: by Tlotem (new)

Tlotem | 26 comments Hi Kirk,
I've only read one book in your selection.
I'm intrigued by your number two: Pride and Prescience and that's the one I'm choosing. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Hi there. I'm choosing To Conquer Pride: A Pride and Prejudice Variation by Jennifer Altman, mainly because it's the only one on your list that I've read. I'd love to see what you think of it!

Thanks Judy. I think it's just about the only one of Karen's books that I haven't read yet.

message 27: by Dana (new)

Dana (danarlynn) | 61 comments Tlotem...Victoria Kincade is a fave of mine, so I am picking The Unforgettable Mr. Darcy for you. I haven't read this one, but it's one that I plan to this year. Happy reading!

Sophia (sophiarose) | 952 comments Mod
Oops, Judy! I made the list this morning and then forgot to post my pick for you.

Anyway, I had to pick The Three Colonels: Jane Austen's Fighting Men by Jack Caldwell. The mashup of more than one Austen novel was fun and different in this one. Hope you like it. :)

Lol, I think I saw on your blog post a few wks back or intro that you were from Western MA. :) We didn't but any snow or ice turns my girlfriend's neighborhood (the North End) into a skating rink! Yikes! A least it hasn't been the snow mountains of 2015. Cheers!

message 32: by Jae (new)

Jae | 11 comments Sophia...Here be dragons

I chose 'Pemberley: Mr. Darcy's Dragon' by Maria Grace for you. I haven't read it but I also had a dragon-oriented title on my list. It's a genre twist I haven't delved into yet. Happy reading!

Sophia (sophiarose) | 952 comments Mod
LOL, sounds good, Mwsogl. I do love dragon stories so I'm looking forward to this one.

Anne (In Search of Wonder) (abcdefg88piano) | 14 comments Debbie, I pick Mercy's Embrace for you. I'm curious to see how the "evil sister's" story is treated! I think I have the first book in that series in my Kindle queue.

message 35: by Anji (last edited Jan 30, 2019 11:47PM) (new)

Anji | 735 comments I'm already well into the book that Judy picked for me - 61% on my Kindle. It's Undeceived: Pride & Prejudice in the Spy Game. Why haven't I read this before? It's simply fantastic!

EDIT: after a late night (or should I say early morning!), I've finished my Pick. It's one of those books that is: a) unputdownable; and b) you want to get to the end to find out how it all pans out but at the same time, you don't want to get to the end 'cos then it's all over.

Definitely gets the extra-sparklies!

Thanks again! Nothing like reading the first book in a series last. And it is one of my least favorite in the series (the Sanditon one is far and away my favorite. I hope to reread it later in the year). Too many unpleasant and spooky events occur. 2.75-3

message 37: by Aly (new)

Aly Schne (abbynormale) | 30 comments Apologies for the last minute post. But I have my pick for you, Barb!

I was gonna go with Fitzwilliam Darcy, Rock Star by Heather Lynn Rigaud because I've read it before and it actually greets me most mornings on my Austen bookshelf.

However, I've gone with another occupant of that bookshelf: Pemberley Ranch by Jack Caldwell. It's been a while since I've read it myself, but I remember enjoying it and hope you do so as well!

Howdy, Aly!

Glad you could post up Barb's pick. Thanks!

I went ahead and made a pick for you so you can get started.
Aly, I pick The House Guest by Elizabeth Adams for you.

Hope its a good one! :)

It's fortunate you've read the others in this series beforehand.

Thank you so much Dana, it was unputdownable! I loved this caring, besotted, chivalrous Darcy. And also this mischievous, amorous, daring Elizabeth. The path for Elizabeth to rediscovering her memories is captivating. I will reread it and highly recommend this book

Mswogl, you picked a fabulous winner for me. Loved dragons and P&P. I'm on the bump about some of the characters, but will take a wait and see for why they are acting certain ways. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series. Thanks!

Although I didn't pick it for you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Sophia. You definitely need to read the two sequels; Longbourn: Dragon Entail and Netherfield: Rogue Dragon: A Pride and Prejudice Variation, plus the prequel A Proper Introduction to Dragons.

And now, there's a Persuasion-based dragon tale in the pipeline, too!

message 47: by Sophia (new)

That is cool that she's doing a Persuasion one, too. I was thinking that it would be fun to see the other novels mashed up, too.

Aly Schne (abbynormale) | 30 comments Sophia thanks for picking The Houseguest. It had been a little while since I read it, but I enjoyed it all over again with my second reading. Definitely makes me want to read the other books by Elizabeth Adams now.

message 50: by Mary (new)

Mary | 171 comments Aly-Green Card and On Equal Ground are two of my favourites by this author. I highly recommend them and hope you enjoy them if you decide to read them.
