51. A book published in 2019

I'm hoping to read Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid for this, but it comes out in March and I don't think I can wait until the end of the challenge to read it! I'll probably end up using a Book of the Month club book for this pick -- that's where I get most of my new releases from anyway.

Of course, I'm always hoping I'll be able to use Doors of Stone, The Thorn of Emberlain, or The Winds of Winter, but at this point I'm not holding my breath for any of those.

I can confirm the Kingkiller Chronicle is incredible. I loved both The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear as well as the novella The Slow Regard of Silent Things. But seriously...don't expect book 3 anytime soon. It'll be 8 years come March 2019 since book two was published. Rothfuss has stated that if he had actual news of a release date for book 3 he would announce it and share it with people and that hasn't happened yet.

Nadine wrote: "At this point, I'm not touching Rothfuss or Martin until they finish their damned series. Because I'm starting to think that neither one ever will."
Nadine, I love the Game of Thrones series, but I won't go near the books. I don't want to fall in love even more and then be among the people patiently getting stood up by an author.

I have the Name of the Wind and The Wise Mans Fear and the smaller one (whatever that is and I know it was mentioned above lol) and am waiting for number 3 before I start reading them.
I am waiting for Holy Sister by Mark Lawrence next year. I’ve read Red Sister (amazing) and have Grey Sister here ready to go. Actually won a signed hardcover edition in a competition that he was running in a Fantasy bookclub he started on here.
Also there’s probably a new Stephen King due out sometime next year.....

People are saying the Book of the Ancestor series (Red, Grey, and Holy Sister) are just as good or better than Broken Empire. I really loved Red Sister and gave it all of the Stars. And Grey Sister is supposed to be better again. Lots of well written strong girls kicking butt.

If I use that for something else, I might do Riley Sager's new book or Daisy Jones and The Six.

Thanks :)

On the Come Up even though I haven't gotten around to THUG yet, I am sure I will love it as much as everyone else and want to read her follow up
Daisy Jones and The Six because I loved Evelyn Hugo and I need to read more Taylor Jenkins Reid
and
Two Can Keep a Secret because I just had the best 2 nights reading One of Us Is Lying

Added! And it's about books and libraries and other amazing things. I need to see a cover!!
Also posted this in the Far East thread but I'll put it here too, for fans of Lisa See new release anticipated in March : The Island of Sea Women.

At first, I was like "eh, I'll just pick up something randomly for this prompt..."
And now I'm like "HOW WILL I CHOOSE BETWEEN ALL THE GOODIES!?!?!?"
Looking at:
Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
The Huntress by Kate Quinn
When All Is Said by Anne Griffin
The Starless Sea by Erin Morganstern
Opposite of Always by Justin Reynolds
On the Come Up by Angie Thomas
Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte

Preach! I'm sure at least one or two of those will be nominated for the GR Choice Awards in 2019, so hopefully that prompt comes back around for the 2020 list.

- Do you often read newly published books? I probably only read about half a dozen of them a year.
- How did you find out about this book (eg Goodreads, award winner, author’s website, friend’s recommendation etc) I forget but I think I saw it somewhere besides Goodreads. I think I saw it on a Facebook article about new releases.

All add more as I think of them

Just yesterday finished reading - for #51 - INHERITANCE: A MEMOIR OF GENEALOGY, PATERNITY, & LOVE by Dani Shapiro. Today started on a book for #46 (A book with a [mostly] black cover) - I mention it in my review of INHERITANCE here on GR.
- Do you often read newly published books?
Often enough. I browse all kind of places re books- stores, Amazon, etc. Also get recommendations via friends & Bookmarks magazine. And there are always unexpected places too!
- How did you find out about this book (eg Goodreads, award winner, author’s website, friend’s recommendation etc)?
Lots of places, but the interview with author in Bookmarks greatly influenced my decision to read it sooner than later, plus another factor, noted in my review on GR.

Already read - That Ain’t Witchcraft by Seanan McGuire, the latest novel in the fantastic Incryptid series.
- Do you often read newly published books?
For authors/series that I'm already reading, I'll snag and read the new titles while they're still cooling from the book oven. :-) McGuire is one of them.
- How did you find out about this book (eg Goodreads, award winner, author’s website, friend’s recommendation etc)
I've been a huge fan of this series since book one, have read all the shorts & novellas, and follow the author on various platforms. Pre-ordered this the instant she posted it was available. Cheese! and cake!!! HAIL! :-)

One False Move, by Robert Goddard

Do you often read newly published books?
I don’t go out of my way to look for them, so no.
How did you find out about this book (eg Goodreads, award winner, author’s website, friend’s recommendation etc)
I love Robert Goddard’s books and eagerly await each one. He is a master of the plot twist.

I read In a Badger Way
Do you often read newly published books?
I read a couple a year depending on the series that I am reading.
How did you find out about this book (eg Goodreads, award winner, author’s website, friend’s recommendation etc)
I have been waiting for it ever since I finished Hot and Badgered last year!

I try to read a few newly published books a year.
I probably found out about this one on Goodreads.
- What are you reading this week? Queenie
- Do you often read newly published books? I do- I read the NY Times book review and some magazines and if something sounds good, I add it to my library hold list. I also follow a blog that does a regular "what are you reading" column that is always full of recommendations.
- How did you find out about this book No idea!

I read Wild Country for this prompt. I don't usually read newly published books because I try to take a FIFO approach to my TBR list. I learned about this book through a friend who also follows Anne Bishop.

I don't really care about reading new books, except on some occasions where I make the mistake of starting an unfinished series. I do occasionally browse the new books section of the library though, so a few of the books I end up reading are new releases.
