Beth (k9odyssey) The interactions between Long John Silver and all the other characters is interesting. Like so many contemporary stories, Silver is a complex man, not purely evil with some subtle elements of "good" that are in his best interest of course. I loved his manner and all along tried to guess his motive at any particular moment. When Jim first meets him, you would think he would be nothing short of a mentor but then that would make for a pretty dull pirate story.
