I've purchased the book. I'm going to start tonight. Did you want to read up to a certain chapter or read the whole thing and then comment?

I am here! but at the moment I am swamped by BRs that I am determined to read and a couple of team game commitments.

This book fits one of my games so I will probably read it over the next couple of days but I like to comment every few chapters as I go.

Ok. So last night I read a few chapters and I must say the plot so far is good. I haven't read any contemporaries from Zanetti. I read her scorpions syndrome series and I loved it. She's an expert on writing super alpha, possessive and protective heroes. Malcom is no exception. Have you guys read Zanetti before?

I am up to #6, in Scorpius, I have also read the first of her Wicked Realms series but realised it is the spin-off, so will read the other series before contining that one. So, only PNR as well.

I think this is my first book by her and I'm enjoying myself so far. That is saying a lot considering I don't usually read romantic suspense.

I read Hidden as an ARC before it was published and really liked it. The series should be fantastic.

You can tell already that the fact that Mal is going undercover in the cult and working on Pippa is going to blow up in his face Big Time!

Do you think the money Pippa gives her friend is to help other women escape the cult? Or is the friend using it to help fund terrorist activities?

Hmm.. Gisela I thought the same thing but I don't believe so. Her character seems consistently loyal and good.
I'm at the point in the novel where I get to see Pippa really release her fear of going out and trusting Mal just a bit. I hope he doesn't break her heart. Although keeping the fact that he knows she's in the cult pretty much guarantees she'll be mad.

I had to take a break to deal with stuff from work this week. I'll pick it up again tonight.

On your second point, I am leaning towards the first but it would be a good twist if it is the second, particularly if Pippa is thinking it is for the first reason, and it is really the second.

Through Chapter Ten It has grabbed me. I must put it down, things to do and all that, a pity it isn't available on audio! I will pick it back up over my afternoon coffee.

I guess Zanetti is saying that the dog is just as individual / psychologically messed up as the rest of the group.

Also the sex scenes... not really my thing... so I'm skimming those.

I feel like I'm missing something. Is this a paranormal? Is Wolfe a werewolf and does Isaac have some kind of powers or something?How did he improve Mal's headache? (hide spoiler)]

Gisela, yeah I thought it was a bit paranormal as well but in the end it's explained that he piches a nerve or something to cause that reaction. Just finished it, and loved it!

-I did not enjoy reading about how Isaac abused the women in the cult.
-I was left wondering about April. Is she going to be okay?
-I thought that Roscoe was a bit much. I could pass the drinking and maybe the shoes, but also the argyle print and the dancing? Too much...
-I didn't like feeling like I was missing something. It would have helped if we'd had insight into Isaac's head earlier in the book.
-There was so much that hinted at a paranormal romance that I kept expecting Wolfe to be a werewolf and Isaac to have some sort of powers.
-I loved Pippa as a character, how she fought to live her life her way and challenged herself. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[ overall quite good for a beginning of the series I did like that the team members hadn't met previously, hopefully as the series progresses we will see the relationships developing between each of the individual members as they build the team.

As to the plot I thought the ending was very rushed. There were multiple multiple points of view along with dream memories that cluttered up the writing. This is the first romantic suspense that I have read from Zanetti having previously only read her dystopian, Scorpius syndrome. I am interested enough to read the next in the series and will probably also look at her dark protectors. 3.5 stars (hide spoiler)]

I guess as much as we abhor it, we need a reason to hate the bad guys, and justify whatever our hero / heroine dishes out. I also skipped the sex scenes, BSDM is not my cup of tea in any form! :) (hide spoiler)]
