I can't wait to see the series . I judge things on the first couple of episodes. If it leaves me wanting to watch the rest then it's great. However I'm glad we are reading this now. It gives me an excuse to read the series again before the TV series starts.... And then I'll be comparing.
It looks good. Even if I haven't read the books I think I'd still watch it. I mean who doesn't want to watch a good vampire and witch romance!!!

I'm going to try to get to this within November. I still will do the other one first. Hopefully someone will join here to push me to it sooner rather than later. Norma? This is a favorite of yours isn't it?
The first two books were HUGE favorites of mine. They actually are the reason I became addicted to UPF and Vampires/Witches/Demons. I want to see the TV show, but book 3 really threw me and I wished it was more like book 1. I LOVED book 1. I will read this, just not this month because I don't have time.
Almost 80 pages in and I'm hanging it up for now though think it might end up in the forgotten. It moves slowly with no real focus. We have Phobe's turning and being apart from Marcus, which is driving Marcus a bit up the wall. So we get the POV of Phoebe becoming and learning to be a vampire. Marcus is meanwhile with Matthew and Diane and going stir crazy. Diane delves into his past while finding out things happening currently in the vampire society and with her kids. Then we are thrown into the past and Marcus' human life and family. It is told in three POVs in two different times though we have not traveled in time. Someone described this like a diary of regular life, and that is kind of the feeling I get. It is a bit of a drag really. If I loved Matthew and Diane, I would probably like it just for the glimpses of their life but I want more of a story going on.
I tried and may come back if anyone else tries it out. Like maybe the person that nominated it?

I watched the first episode (or was it the pilot?) Of the discovery of witches tv show.
I won't be watching another. Already in the first episode you know how much it strays from the book. You expect movies to stray but not tv series. Don't get me wrong it has been a while since i had read the books, and after i read the first one, i went to read times convert...but I'll get back to that soon.
I wont be watching another episode mainly due to my own issues. Don't get me wrong i watched this with my partner and his father. His father wanted to watch more at the end of the episode. My partner was just asking questions and really was indifferent to the situation...he was only like that because i had a bit of a rant about book differences.
Anyway turns out they are only slight differences and i probably should have read the book before my rant.
Ok so on to this book.
The POV change got me a bit. I really really dont like POV changes. Its what made me stop reading black dagger brotherhood series.
I get overwhelmed easy and when it comes to reading books with several POVs its like im having a conference call with people on the phone while trying to hold a conversation with someone next to you... you can follow it to a certain extent but its just exsausting.

1st person change ups are like that for me. If you want multiple points of view, do third person. This one had a 1st person change up, I remember. I listened to a little more then changed books. You'll probably love it only if you loved the characters and want to revisit. It is not exciting, a little interesting daily life. I didn't love the character though I liked the series.

I don't recognize these but it'll be streaming available in the U.S. on Sundance Now and Shudder. I've heard of the Sundance Channel available through cable but its streaming variant? I know that HBO now is only available through having cable and putting your cable info in. I don't have cable, cut the cord a while back.
I have internet, over air, and Amazon Prime and Netflix with a Roku box. (I have some of the first gen Rokus so early adopter). I have one of the new Amazon recasts but it is NOT ready for prime time. I have a Tivo but refuse to pay $20/mo or over $500 for a guide, I'm over the air for a reason because cable TV is unreasonable. I also have a Mediasonic tuner and recorder by time and channel. It is like recording on an old VCR, time and channel, no guide except the info in the metadata of the channel, maybe a program or two to come. So I can capture/record over the air and this area has a lot over air, at least two versions of every network.
So I guess I'll not be able to watch it. That is alright as I probably wouldn't have anyway. I rarely watch anything over TV, just maybe a 1/2 hour before bed but only sometimes. I really read instead. I've never watched True Blood, or Vampire Diaries, etc... they are there to stream. I watched a little iZombie, thought it was interesting but lost interest after 4 or 5. My son loved, Lost Girl but I only got a few episodes in. Hmm... I guess I like my imagination better.
Let me know if you know what these to streaming platforms are.

I have Directv. I wonder if I have Sundance anymore. WTH is Shudder? I am way out of date with any of that. I have Netflix, but I have no idea how to use Hulu, Roku, and I had Amazon Prime, but never used it.
I am wondering how much more expensive they are combines vs. Directv. I do not have Sundance on my current plan... So I will need to figure out if it worth an extra $36 a month...

So Ruku is a Player of streaming apps, therefore Netflix, Amazon Video, etc..., the is a Youtube app and a PBS app which I use on occasion too but mainly I will stream either on Netflix or Amazon Video. A Fire Stick is kind of the same thing, just came later, it is the for lack of better description, the Operating system, like Windows or Mac, for streaming. SmartTVs have their own OS sometimes and sometimes use Roku software as it has been around for a awhile and people like the way it works. Amazon Prime TVs, well I think they use the Amazon OS. Amazon does work with Roku but doesn't work with all smart TVs.
Amazon Video has free prime videos, and then has a lot of on-demand type videos for rent (1-2 days) or to buy and add to your digital collection. I've bought season passes to shows but haven't bought a movie, rented yes, bought no. I do have a movie in there as they use work with digital downloads that came with Bluray multi version packs. I haven't seen Amazon on the available ways of claiming recently. So Amazon Prime is similar to Netflix but has different choices. Since you have Prime, you should check it out.
Looking at Sundance Now and Shudder, they are both streaming services. I guess by being exclusive, they hope you will subscribe. Not me, I'll wait for the DVD and if not, I'll forget about it. Shudder is supposed to be horror and suspense streaming from AMC. They are about $4.99-$6.99/month. It doesn't look like it'll be on the regular channels through cable. I think it is a real jerk thing to do. I would wait for all the episodes to be released, do a trial, watch them all, then cancel the trial. Or just forget it all together.

Synopsis:
On the battlefields of the American Revolution, Matthew de Clermont meets Marcus MacNeil, a young surgeon from Massachusetts, during a moment of political awakening when it seems that the world is on the brink of a brighter future. When Matthew offers him a chance at immortality and a new life free from the restraints of his puritanical upbringing, Marcus seizes the opportunity to become a vampire. But his transformation is not an easy one and the ancient traditions and responsibilities of the de Clermont family clash with Marcus's deeply held beliefs in liberty, equality, and brotherhood.
Fast-forward to contemporary Paris, where Phoebe Taylor—the young employee at Sotheby's whom Marcus has fallen for—is about to embark on her own journey to immortality. Though the modernized version of the process at first seems uncomplicated, the couple discovers that the challenges facing a human who wishes to be a vampire are no less formidable than they were in the eighteenth century. The shadows that Marcus believed he'd escaped centuries ago may return to haunt them both—forever.
A passionate love story and a fascinating exploration of the power of tradition and the possibilities not just for change but for revolution, Time's Convert channels the supernatural world-building and slow-burning romance that made the All Souls Trilogy instant bestsellers to illuminate a new and vital moment in history, and a love affair that will bridge centuries.
