Angelino Desmet (arscynic) I've created http://philomath.network for people who love learning to come together. I'd like it to be a place to collect educational sources that nurture curiosity. A place to share the joy of learning.

"It should be possible, these days, to collect all knowledge you need from the internet. Problem then is, there is so much junk on the internet. Is it possible to weed out those very rare pages that may really be of use?" —Gerard 't Hooft, theoretical physicist

There's an abundance of information on the internet, but I need help discerning the good from the bad. I think the latter is especially important for laypeople who want to get into STEM fields but have no idea where to start. Many people have also lost their natural curiosity and interest in learning. I think it's important to reinvigorate that feeling in order to take humanity to the next level. Far too often people learn for an objective, not for the sake of curiosity.

There are many places to learn online, but I haven't yet discovered a forum for people who love to learn—philomaths—to get to know each other and become a lively community. Therefore, I hope the philomath.network can become a home for some enthusiastic learners. You are most welcome.

PS I hope I can post this here since it is close to advertising. But it's relevant so I'll take a shot.
