Both books are available at amazon.com and Barnes and Noble and also available as an e-book, Thank you.

Iron and Magic - mentioned "Tikbalang", a primordial ancient creature from Philippine nightmares
Magic shifts- mentioned "Escrima", a Filipino martial art

My novel Enlightenment: Book One of the Bathala Series is a YA coming-of-age-story that explores the history of the Philippines through the first-person eyes of Filipino American Dorothy Dizon and Filipino transfer student Adrian Rosario, who happens to be a Danag vampire sent to protect Dorothy from enemies of his secret society in the Philippines. Goodreads reviews are filtering in. Here's the thumbs up Kirkus Review! Available March 14, 2019!

Everyone thanks for sharing the other titles. I'm adding them to my Goodreads book shelves!
Let me start :)
Title: The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto
Author: Mitch Albom
Rating: Not one of my favorites but I think I rated it 5 stars
Read when: early 2017 I think
Acquired: wish list from secret santa (I know, no need to comment :)
Excerpts from the book: page 98
Frankie wanted very much to please her. He thought about all the music he’d learned. He recalled one of the stolen discs, a song from the Philippines that his teacher said was “sad enough to melt the phonograph needle,” El Maestro had thought it to Frankie. It’s title was “Maalaala Mo Kaya” written by a Filipino composer named Constancio de Guzman. (“An elegant name, “El Maestro had mused.) it depicted two people from different social classes promising not to forget their love. On the record label, the translated title was “Will you Remember?”
Me:
While typing (yes I have the paperback so have to typed it :), why does it have to be stolen haha. But I really like that one of ours is being celebrated and in music which was not so often. Only if someone delve more to it? That’s it. Now, who would be featured in today’s Maalaala mo Kaya? :)
Other books:
The Nanny Diaries by Emma McLaughlin & Nicola Kraus
John Grishams novel (can’t recall at the moment what book exactly)
Shouting into the silence by Danny Smith (which is my pile of to read books)
