TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments This game is very similar to 20 questions except that there is no limit on the number of questions.

Rules

1. Someone (the Thinker) thinks of something - an object or an abstract idea but it must be a noun.
2. Others ask Yes or No questions to find out what the Thinker is thinking of.
3. The Thinker answers either "Yes" or "No" (or possibly "I don't know" or "I'm not sure"). Or 'maybe' if there is more than one possibilty. No other answers are allowed.
4. When someone thinks they know the answer, they say, "Is it .......". The Thinker will reply Yes or No.
5. When someone gets the answer right, they have won that round and they become the new Thinker.

That's all there is to it.

message 30: by theDuke (last edited Nov 13, 2018 03:36PM) (new)

theDuke | 6491 comments Being the literal kind of person that i am TB (and ignoring all the other responses so far)....is it just simply the word......'something'?!

Failing that...your dog? (granted, i'm a tad thrown by fictional & non fictional reference bit though! It's gotta be one or the other, surely?)

message 31: by TwoddleBungler (last edited Nov 13, 2018 04:12PM) (new)

TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments Well I'm not sure that two guesses are allowed at once but I'll let it go!

It's not my dog but just "a dog".

There are fictional dogs, e.g. Snoopy, and lots of real dogs. Sadly dogs are bred for food in some parts of Asia.

So I was thinking of "a dog".

Over to you the Duke!

theDuke | 6491 comments Oh 'eck! Wasn't expecting that!

Erm..right okay....I've got something in mind...

PS..i'm not always on line..so might take a while to answer your replies..so i'll just do 'em in lots, as and when...away ya go...

Well done for getting the answer theDuke. I don't think answering in lots is going to work as the game is one of whittling down by elimination and not everyone has your psychic ability to go straight to the correct answer! :-)

For that reason, let's throw it open to the next regular who comes along and you can continue to participate as a guesser if and when. ;-)

message 34: by TwoddleBungler (new)

TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments Anyone care to jump in and start a new one? :-)

message 35: by nocheese (new)

nocheese | 6824 comments I'm not comfortable with just dismissing Duke out of hand. He did guess the answer, and he has apparently thought of something. I'd prefer to give his thought a go, and see how we get on.

message 36: by TwoddleBungler (last edited Nov 14, 2018 09:06AM) (new)

TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments Okay, I'm open to that but how do we proceed?

So I'll ask something:

Is it alive in the sense that it naturally contains DNA?

(Don't we need an answer to that before proceeding to the next question. Duke says to do it in lots - will that work?)

P.S. I don't mind if we just wait a long time for Duke to get back after each question.

Martin O' | 2196 comments I can't see that working without a concurrent way of eliminating or affirming any suggestions to aid our thought processes.

"And the next item is a bison's bollock....... A bison's bollock!"

I recall this as being in a Monty Python sketch but cannot find a reference to it on Google or YouTube.

message 38: by theDuke (last edited Nov 14, 2018 02:09PM) (new)

theDuke | 6491 comments Maybe somebody else should take up the batten then, as I can be gone for long periods of time in between visiting GR, unless folks are happy to wait! I can join in on the guesses & if I get it right, then somebody else can start another round.

However, as this one is running for now...answering TB's reply: Yes.

message 39: by TwoddleBungler (new)

TwoddleBungler | 4920 comments Would it fit easily in one of these?
