What was I thinking?

(Note: I can only answer Yes or No, so it is in fact found in the Northern hemisphere but it could be Southern as well! [maybe])

Failing that...your dog? (granted, i'm a tad thrown by fictional & non fictional reference bit though! It's gotta be one or the other, surely?)

It's not my dog but just "a dog".
There are fictional dogs, e.g. Snoopy, and lots of real dogs. Sadly dogs are bred for food in some parts of Asia.
So I was thinking of "a dog".
Over to you the Duke!

Erm..right okay....I've got something in mind...
PS..i'm not always on line..so might take a while to answer your replies..so i'll just do 'em in lots, as and when...away ya go...

Well done for getting the answer theDuke. I don't think answering in lots is going to work as the game is one of whittling down by elimination and not everyone has your psychic ability to go straight to the correct answer! :-)
For that reason, let's throw it open to the next regular who comes along and you can continue to participate as a guesser if and when. ;-)

So I'll ask something:
Is it alive in the sense that it naturally contains DNA?
(Don't we need an answer to that before proceeding to the next question. Duke says to do it in lots - will that work?)
P.S. I don't mind if we just wait a long time for Duke to get back after each question.

"And the next item is a bison's bollock....... A bison's bollock!"
I recall this as being in a Monty Python sketch but cannot find a reference to it on Google or YouTube.

However, as this one is running for now...answering TB's reply: Yes.

Sorry for the delay, TB got it..it was indeed a tree, back to you!

Okay, I'll pick something less obvious this time. Hint: It's a particular type of animal.
Rules
1. Someone (the Thinker) thinks of something - an object or an abstract idea but it must be a noun.
2. Others ask Yes or No questions to find out what the Thinker is thinking of.
3. The Thinker answers either "Yes" or "No" (or possibly "I don't know" or "I'm not sure"). Or 'maybe' if there is more than one possibilty. No other answers are allowed.
4. When someone thinks they know the answer, they say, "Is it .......". The Thinker will reply Yes or No.
5. When someone gets the answer right, they have won that round and they become the new Thinker.
That's all there is to it.
