Hero’s distant cousin Victoria is still running the Jarvis household. Were you surprised to see that she and Jarvis are “close?” Did she kill Annabelle (Hero’s mother and Jarvis’ wife)?

Phrynne | 607 comments That was a surprise and it does look very suspicious!

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I agree, Phrynne. Something suspicious this way came....

I thought from the last book that she might have had a hand in Annabelle’s death. I’m convinced of it now. Heaven help her when Hero finds out.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I absolutely suspect her of poisoning Annabelle. I'll be utterly shocked if that turns out to not be the case. The thought of her and Jarvis being "close" makes me cringe. Yuck. Heaven help her indeed because something tells me hell hath no rage like Hero's righteous anger.

I think she’s as Machiavellian as Jarvis. He should be careful.

You know Hero will make this discovery. I want popcorn and a nice fire going when that scene shows up😍

Ha!! Yes, this is going to be quite the scene!!!

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I'll bring the butter for that showdown!

My thoughts exactly. I'm not too sure that Hero isn't already thinking it.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Yes, Victoria killed Annabelle and when Hero finds out there will be hell to pay.

I wasn't surprised that she and Jarvis are close as this is exactly the reason for her disposing of his wife. My question is how Jarvis will react when he learns of what she did because he really didn't care for his wife that much. She was an annoyance and a burden to him.

Jarvis is clever. Do you think he already suspects, or knows?

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments Jonetta wrote: "Jarvis is clever. Do you think he already suspects, or knows?"

I want to say he suspects, but that is problematic because then it would be as if he doesn't care that this woman killed his wife. I know he is morally ambiguous, but this would be crossing a more personal line.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7669 comments Mod
Maybe so. I’m convinced we’ll find out.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I could totally believe that Jarvis wouldn't care if he knew for sure that Victoria killed his wife. I can see him being relieved that someone else removed a thorn for him when he couldn't really do it himself.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7669 comments Mod
See, now that’s where I’m leaning, Veronica.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 242 comments I'm interested to see how her storyline will continue. I'm positive she killed Hero's mother. I'm curious if it is a plan concocted with Jarvis. It feels like they are partners in crime. They deserve each other, but it is going to hurt Hero when she finds out.
