Any other topics you’d like to discuss/favorite scenes? Your overall opinion of the story?

Phrynne | 607 comments I loved this book especially the family scenes and Hero's wonderful fighting spirit.
I read it awhile ago now so I can't answer the more specific questions. I just have a general memory of the book:)

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I read the book a few months ago, I think, so my memory is a sieve. I did enjoy this book and wish/hope there are more to come.

My favorite scene will always be when Hero shot and killed Peter. He was a despicable person and needed to be gone. Hero’s cool demeanor and using the clock to cover the click in the trigger was just awesome.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I read this when it was first released so it's been awhile for me too but I remember being very moved by the young mother whose husband was press-ganged into the military while he was just walking home one night. How awful. The government gave no thought to any family left behind or how they would support themselves. The hanging of the young mother, who clung to her baby until the last possible moment was so sad. And who knows what will become of the baby?

I did love all the home and family moments between Sebastian and Hero. And Simon! They love each other so much.

Amy Hatcher’s situation brought me such sadness and her hanging gutted me.

Jo Ann (jojog) | 72 comments Enjoyed reading everyone's comments. I also read it when it was released so my memory is foggy but, overall, I really liked this book even though it has a complicated plot. Think I would get a lot out of a reread!!

My apologies for just getting to this. Been a tough year.

No apologies necessary, Jonetta!! Thank you for providing these excellent questions and a forum for us to discuss!!

Phrynne | 607 comments Never apologise Jonetta! You go over and above in providing these questions for us. Like Charlene says my memory is a sieve too! I should keep notes.

You’re all so welcome! I love discussing these books with you.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments Yes, thank you for all your hard work, Jonetta. I'm always amazed at the depth of questions you come up with.

That’s very kind, Veronica and it means a lot.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments ...and we all mean it, Jonetta! No one does it the way you do, and that's a plus in my book. I'll just try to read when you do if it's a book we both have in our sights ;-)

I’m finally starting to catch up so that I can read our group books at the beginning of the month.

Joanna | 139 comments I keep waiting for the book where Hero asks Jarvis if he killed someone and he answers with a yes. I wonder about her reaction.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7669 comments Mod
Hero knows not to ask a question where she already knows the answer😏
