This month we had a high number of votes (47) and voters (26) and a clear winner.

Results of the December voting:

1. The Gunpowder Plot by Antonia Fraser, 11 votes.

2. Strangers in a strange land (Chaput), 5 votes.

3. Lift up your heart (Sheen), Looking for the king (Downing), Out of the ashes (Esolen) and Story of a soul (Therese de Lisieux), 4 votes each.

4. All the other books (except the two new arrivals, which were not voted) got between 1 and 3 votes.

As the two books with no votes were protected, no book will be eliminated this month. Therefore just one new book can come in. I used the randomizer to select one of the two books that should have entered next month (The power of silence, by Robert Sarah, and He leadeth me, by Father Walter Ciszek),

The book chosen by the randomizer was He Leadeth Me by Walter J. Ciszek.

Regards,

Teresa “Teri” (teresaelizabethann) Thank you for reminding me to vote 🙂. I just joined so even though I missed the vote, it’s fine.
Can’t wait to read all of the books I haven’t read.

This book was originally published in the U.K. under the title The Gunpowder Plot and then in the United States as: Faith and Treason: The Story of the Gunpowder Plot, but the do appear to be the same book.

Bice (bicebeechay) | 111 comments I may have to sit December out. It looked like Gunpowder Plot was going to be nomination winner so ordered it. (Third party Amazon) When it came today it is only Part One! Amazon has one left but not prime so it may come by Christmas it says. I am going to check inter Library Loan.

Cover different than Goodreads one. Is this the same book as you will be reading?

We will start the discussion threads on or about December 1, but most folks don't start participating in the discussion until a week or two into the month. It's never too late!!
