Did your initial impressions of Serafina change by the end of the story? How did you see her? Who do you think she really is?

Phrynne | 607 comments I changed my mind several times but in the end I think she was just someone trying to get by doing something she was good at.

I was always skeptical but in the beginning, I gave her leeway that she might have a gift. By the end of the story, I was convinced she was just a great actress. She could read people’s vulnerabilities really well and used it to get something she wanted or needed. Classic grifter.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments Yes, agreed, Jonetta. I wanted to like her character, but I had a tough time. I was very sorry her young man was killed.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments I was always suspicious of her and her character never grew on me. She kept saying that Mrs. Gittings forced her into lying, but it was clear to me just how manipulative she was. She knew what she was doing and felt no guilt whatsoever. It kind of annoys me that she will continue to scam desperate people.

Lauren, I wanted to like her and be sympathetic. Just couldn’t get there.

It is a shame that she’s still out there.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I didn't like her at all. She was just a con artist praying on people that didn't know better. I was surprised that Sarah took her into her home and talked so openly about the case when she was around. I did feel bad for her when Nicola died, but I wondered if she had something to do with his death.

~ Giulia ~ | 193 comments I never warmed up to her because she was too manipulative, and her making a living by taking advantage of other people's pain did nothing to endear her to me. Still, I didn't want anything too bad to happen to her or Nicola.

I was surprised too! And Mrs. Decker took it incredibly well when she found out the séance was all a scam. It seems Serafina's skill in manipulating people is very strong.

I felt the same way, too, about Serafina & Nicola’s relationship. I think that might have been because of Nicola. He was so likable.
