Selected Philosophical and Scientific WritingsÉmilie Du Châtelet

The 1700s French scientist and natural philosopher Émilie du Châtelet is the first known scientist to predict electromagnetic radiation (in Dissertation sur la nature et la propagation du feu), among other ahead-of-her-time discoveries. This translation of some of her notable works comes from the great Other Voice in Early Modern Europe project.

Samy | 51 comments For this category, I read Obsessive Genius: The Inner World of Marie Curie by Barbara Goldsmith and it was good.

Another one I really like so far that I'm currently reading is Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer. I'm reading that one for a book about nature, but it could fit for other categories: a woman in science or a book written by an indigenous woman.
