Mic Breaks Only discussion

We made it through the audio version of The Handmaid's Tale during a road trip to Tacoma, Washington. Getting through this novel was a long, uphill climb. I was briefly encouraged by the strange ending, but ultimately it didn't do enough to turn the story around for me. Unfortunately this was two thumbs down for me. I still love you Claire Danes.

My husband purchased Saga, Vol. 1 during a shopping excursion at a combination used book store/comic shop. He encouraged me to read it and I was smitten right away. The art is gorgeous and the writing is on point. It doesn't hurt that the main characters Alana and Marko are quite attractive. I can't wait to read more about this family on the run. I am in love with Lying Cat, where can I get one? For those folks who are sensitive to certain kinds of visuals, this is very ADULT in nature, there are parts of this story that leave very little to the imagination and the content is not safe for kids. The story does not shy away from sex and violence.

I started the third installation of the Gentleman Bastard series The Republic of Thieves. I'm hoping our beloved duo comes back strong from a rough adventure on the high seas.
