Do you use Netgalley and/or Edelweiss? If so what did you recently request? Which do you prefer? What book(s) were you accepted?

I use NetGalley, but only when I feel like it. I have a tough time with e-books because I don't have a Kindle or other e-reader. Reading e-books on my laptop aggravates my migraines.

I recently received Since You've Been Gone, and I'm looking forward to reading it closer to its publication date.

Looks like a fairly good book Erin! Hope you like it (:

To be honest, I think I over request books on Netgalley. There's always something I see that interests me or I want haha.

I do too. My rating is only like 20%, but I noticed that a lot of publishers were allowing me access right before the book was archived, so by the time I got the email, I couldn't even download the book. Kind of defeats the purpose of it, right?

Yes it does. I've had that happen to me a few times.. I was pretty upset but oh well I guess.

It doesn't really hurt because they don't require you to review the books, but other publishers might not allow you to read a book because of a low rating.

Oh well. I try. lol

I haven't logged on in a few weeks, so at least I'm not overloaded right now.

So I just found out that I can't send any of my NetGalley approvals to my Kindle for Mac app. It's not an available feature, so I have to try to get them all in different formats.

That's weird. Did you click the "send to kindle" button when you got approved for a book? Also, did you add the Netgalley email to your approval list on your Amazon account?

I did, but Amazon only sends to actual Kindle devices and phones, so I can't get them on my Mac. It's blocked for Kindle for Mac. The woman I talked to said she'd forward our conversation to customer service to make it a new option, but they probably won't do it.

Wow, that sucks. Sorry Erin.

Yeah. Luckily most of the ones I get approved for can be downloaded as a PDF, but you only get a limited amount of time to read it.

I redownloaded the Kindle app on my iPod, and that lets me send them, but the screen is so tiny! lol

I think I'll be ordering a Kindle with my Christmas money this year just for ARCs.

Kate (kaitlins16) I use both! I used to get most of my e-arcs from Edelweiss, but lately I've been getting most from Netgalley.
