Discover African literature as you read books from different African countries. Books can be either written by native/resident authors, set in the country, or about the country - however you choose. There are no restrictions for book length or author origin.

Start a topic on this thread to chart your progress, listing which level you choose. You may upgrade or downgrade your challenge level at any time. Books must be connected by a land or water border, but can be read out of order.

Level I: Read books from 5 different connected countries
Level II: Read books from 10 different connected countries
Level III: Read books from 20 different connected countries
Level IV: Read books from 40 different connected countries
Level V: Read a book from every country
Rebel Level: Read as many countries as you like that are NOT connected

There are 54 recognized African countries. You may also add Western Sahara as country #55, if you choose. Here is a list of the countries:
