Candace (candywilliams) | 491 comments Quicksilver Quicksilver (The Baroque Cycle, #1) by Neal Stephenson I started this on Xmas when a couple we know told me about it. It's Vol. 1 of 3 of a series called The Baroque Cycle. The middle book is 800+ pages, and the other two are 900+. It's right up my alley: HistFic *and* SciFi.

I'm borrowing the dead-tree edition. Problem is, I can't read it in bed without disturbing the hubs. So ... I'm also reading A River in Darkness: One Man's Escape from North Korea A River in Darkness One Man's Escape from North Korea by Masaji Ishikawa on my Kindle because I can read in bed for half an hour or so until I feel sleepy, or the Kindle hits me in the face, whichever comes first.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, Snails!

A Gentleman in Moscow was a good book. I read it last year. How is it coming along?

I just read the Great Gatsby back in December! It's a classic. I did't particularly like it much but it was a nice short read. Some lady saw me reading when I was out one day and she talked about what a good book it was. I like it when random people in public places talk about books. It's a connection.

I haven’t gotten to A Gentleman in Moscow yet, and I’m starting a buddy read for a large book so it will be a while before I get to it now. Still on my list though! Glad to hear you liked it!
